Chen Kai was speechless and wanted to tell her he didn't need her to clean, but worried it might hurt her feelings. He sighed softly and sat down on the edge of An Mengyao's bed.
"Alright, now that I am seated, feel free to talk about whatever you wish," he said.
An Mengyao had planned to say something, but once Chen Kai was sitting in front of her, the words escaped her.
The room was suddenly silent. Chen Kai felt uncomfortable, not knowing what to say.
Finally, he gently cleared his throat. "You've drunk a lot and put yourself through a lot tonight. You should sleep for a bit. Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I won't leave until I know you're safe."
An Mengyao had begun to say she wasn't tired, but she suppressed a huge yawn and couldn't help but laugh at herself.
"You're the one who took me to the hospital, and I've been still all night. If anyone should be tired, it's you. I feel guilty for keeping you up, why don't you rest a while too?"
