When Chen Kai arrived, only the village chief and his wife were at their home.
Chen Kai hadn't noticed anything unusual at first and entered the house under the village chief's enthusiastic invitation.
Being anxious to develop the resort, Chen Kai got straight to the point.
"The agreed time has arrived. I wonder if you've made your decision yet?"
The village chief nodded with a smile.
"I've told you over the phone, there are some details that need deeper discussion. Some villagers have raised differing opinions, or perhaps it's just concerns."
"Community work isn't easy, and I know you want to do good for our village. You've already told me about that day, haven't you? I can understand the psychology of gratitude, and I'm certainly in favor of it, but..."
At this point, the village chief suddenly stopped speaking and looked at Chen Kai with a cautious gaze.
Chen Kai was confused. The village chief had spoken at length but still hadn't clarified what should be done.
