Duan Mingyu finally returned.
He certainly wouldn't run away, since he believed he was fully prepared, and running away now would be tantamount to admitting that he had let Chen Kai and Yang Fan go.
So, he had to come back and face it, trying his best to eliminate Lin Hui's suspicions about him.
When Lin Hui saw Duan Mingyu return, she immediately rushed to him and loudly interrogated him.
"Did you let Chen Kai and Yang Fan go? Why would you do such a thing?"
Duan Mingyu feigned a clueless expression as he looked at Lin Hui
"What are you talking about? Chen Kai and Yang Fan are gone? Weren't they locked in the secret room? And didn't you have people specifically guarding it? How could they possibly have escaped?"
He then intentionally glared at Lin Hui, appearing angry.
"I wanted to kill them yesterday, but you absolutely wouldn't let me act. Now look what happened? These two escaped, and when that mysterious person returns, I'd like to see how you will explain it to him."
