Chen Kai was even more puzzled, but facing this unfamiliar old man, he didn't feel it was appropriate to ask more, so he just nodded silently and said with a smile.
"Thank you for telling me so much. Since they've already moved, there's nothing left for me to do here. I'll be heading back now."
The old man was quite hospitable, seemingly a bit unhappy to hear that Chen Kai was leaving so soon.
"Look at you city folk, always like this, as if you look down on our village; after all the talking we've done, you should at least stay for a meal before you go."
Chen Kai was surprised by the old man's reaction, realizing he wasn't joking. He thought to himself that the village indeed had a simple and honest custom; just a brief conversation and they wanted him, a city visitor, to stay for a meal. He quickly declined.
