Chapter 1 - Chapter 01

"I have thought of the perfect betrothed for you my son. A curvaceous being with long wavy platinum hair that kisses the ground every time she walks. Her eyes holding the radiance of the beautiful stone, Labradorite and her silver eyelashes appear like morning frost." As the mystical goddess spoke her words constructed and shaped a soul into its own individual entity. Her words creating life before his eyes.

"She is the epitome of grace and now your partner. You may call her Seku." As her name was said she walked towards the goddess's son.

"Thank you for this gracious gift mother." With a deep bow her son along with Seku quietly enter the halls.

"Let me brief you on your responsibilities you will be governing a country called Io, inhabited predominantly by pure blooded beastmen you need to keep your people happy along with help your country prosper and grow. Try to keep Io peaceful we're trying to avoid any world wars, currently the human country Adhara is at war with the elven country Esma so we've been keeping contact to a minimal between the lands in hopes that no other conflicts arise. You must protect your people but at the same time you cannot be too involved in their lives, our divine energy is too great for their planet to hold for very long making our presence on Ludejo limited so, depending on how much magic you expend you won't have long to be down there. Any questions?"

"No sir, I shall perform every task exceptionally." Confidence and determination embedded throughout her voice.

"Don't call me that, call me by my name, Arius. You're now part of the High Family act like it." Authority dripped from his lips as he gave her the simple order.

"Yes Arius."

Her response was short and smooth, but it flowed off her tongue so nicely it made something stir within his chest. A feeling he couldn't identify had him slightly anxious for the future. So with their discussion over he hastily turns and heads to his chambers leaving Seku behind.

Not knowing what else to do in this unfamiliar place she begins to aimlessly wander the palace. Passing through seemingly endless corridors with abundant paintings adorning the walls makes it a little easier to navigate. Although she would prefer it if someone was giving her a tour rather than herself being the guide.

With the building being so vast she was expecting to run into many servants yet not one was to be seen nor heard. The whole place was serenely quiet, only white noise whispered in her ears. Reaching the last hall Seku approaches a massive quartz door leading to what she had hoped was outside. She had seen every inch of this place besides everyone's chambers, all that was left is the castle grounds.

Placing her hands on the gigantic doors she can feel the warmth from the other side creep through her fingers as she gently pushes them open. Immediately she's hit with a blinding light before her eyes can even register the view before her. Raising her arm to block her face her nose catches whiff of the most pleasant aroma. It was soft and subtle but made its presence known, it was the scent of solidarity, love, and peace that wafted through the warm mid-day air. Taking a deep breath of relaxation she senses another beings presence. Quickly she turns her head in their direction only to see the most beautiful man to ever exist standing twenty yards away. His caramel blonde hair glistened underneath the sunlight like golden thread as he leaned over to smell a small delicate lilac. As she stood and watched the unknown man with wonder a light tug at the bottom of her dress drew her attention. Looking down was a petite young girl grasping the end of her ruffled sapphire gown. How had she not realized there was another being here?

"Who are you? Do you need something from my daddy?" The tiny brunette asked, her big hazel eyes staring at Seku curiously probing for information.

"No, I was just admiring him." The words falling out of her mouth before she could catch them and notice the child's father hastily approaching.

"Hello there." Someone calls out.

Breaking her attention away from the girl she turns, coming face to face with the handsome man.

"Daddy!!" The young child yells as she peeks her head from behind Seku, her dainty legs rushing her to her father's side.

"Valtia, I see you've made a friend." Her father asked his velvet voice winding with the summer breeze as he embraced his daughter.

Valtia, so that was her name it was pretty she thought to herself.

"Are you going to introduce yourself?" He questioned his face calm as his eyes watched her, studying Seku's body language. She straightened her posture under his gaze and raised her head to speak.

"Yes, I apologize. I am the Deity Seku, goddess of prosperity, protection, agriculture, and hunting." My eyes unwavering from his as I gave my introduction.

"I see. So you are to be wed to my brother." He mumbled disappointment laced throughout his voice. I wonder why?

"Well allow me to introduce the two of us. I am the first son of All Mother, I am the Deity Sage, god of wisdom, creativity, analysis, and precision."

Gesturing to the girl he continues.

"This is my lovely daughter Valtia and future Heavenly General." In response to her intro she does a slight curtsy.

"It is very nice to meet the two of you. You both are the first beings I have seen since I left the Great Hall. May I ask where everyone went?" I inquire.

My words hung in the air for a while before he began to speak.

"My siblings should be governing their assigned territories or in their bedrooms. As for the servants All Mother created a different dimension for them to stay in, she said she'd like them to feel comfortable and I guess being around gods just isn't." His tone seemed to have a hint of boredom woven through it.

"Oh. Well may I ask how the lands are governed by everyone. I would like to have some references come tomorrow. I need to be prepared so I can carry out my duties with excellence and the utmost pride." I explained not wanting to seem intrusive on their political affairs when this man barely knows me.

"To keep it brief each country's political system is based on power and strength. My country Enfer is a monarchy with the Imperial Family as the wisest and the keenest. The continent Esma is a gerontocracy which is ran by a bunch of strong old elves and let me tell you something I may watch over an archipelago of demons but they're nothing compared to them." His aura became grim yet his voice seemed to hold a little amusement.

"Next there's Adhara which is a human ran aristocracy with the Queen as the most versatile in magick and crafting. Currently they are at war with the Dark Elves and have been for centuries, hell it's been so long I don't even remember how the feud started. I just know at the moment they're fighting over a small island between the two lands, it's home to a golden mineral that has the ability to strengthen the body possibly even heal it. The elves use it in many rituals as part of their religion and beliefs while the humans analyze and research the properties of their findings. Lastly there's the democratic country Elara bordering your country, it's where all the mixed bloods and anyone seeking asylum go. But now I'm curious as to what kind of government you will implement during your reign. How will Miss Seku govern her people?" Curiosity was written all over his face as he gave me a gentle smile. I could tell Sage wasn't interested in my answer instead he seemed to be searching for something deeper his eyes boring into mine.

"I was thinking of having Io be a kritacracy where the heads of the most powerful families rule together, judging crimes and so on to keep conflicts at bay and ensure the safety and rights of my people." I kept my explanation brief just enough for him to get the idea.

"But you know it was nice meeting you Sage you have helped me quite a bit. I look forward to our next encounter, that goes for you as well Valtia." A smile creeping its way onto my face as I say my goodbyes.

"Until next time Seku." He kept his response short and simple as he slightly bowed his head.

Guiding his child, the two walk into the exquisite building while I take in the scene once more.
