I inhale deeply as I and Magnus both listen to Von Kleist.
He's been shivering ever since he saw me. Is he not happy to see me? Or have I become a threat now?
"Your Majesties, Losanhela's Soldiers are preparing terribly for this war and we have not taught our new intakes anything about our weapons"
I turn to Magnus who is seated in a thoughtful position.
This war thingy can be a pain in the neck most times, especially when new intakes have arrived. That's the worst part of it all.
"Gather the troops. We have less than three weeks to prepare. I'll teach them all the things they need to know in a week and then we will be more than ready" Magnus orders and Von bows to both I and him before leaving.
He is gone now. And Magnus breathing pace can be heard and it is fast.
"A-Are you alright?" I ask and he turn to me with those beautiful brown eyes of his.
"I am fine"
I say nothing or force him to tell me anything.
"Am I really going to the battle?" I ask
There's a long silence that I think answers me.
No. That's the answer I guess he's gonna give me.
"Tell me the truth, Magnus" I say quietly and he still says nothing.
Nothing at all. He just faces forward and ignores me.
So I am right, huh? I am not going to any battle just because of danger?
I know you're reading my mind now so let me tell you, I have been to battles that you can't even imagine. I have broke legs, broke hands, broke spines and I have assaulted a King before. A person that have done all those, do you think is a quack in the killing and battle business.
He still says nothing nor turn to face me.
I just came Magnus... And you have started with all these silent modes and angry switch on buttons?
He still remain adamant and don't reply me.
This... This is enough. I have had enough.
I stand up from my throne and walk out of the throne room, feeling his gaze on me.
I don't even stop to catch a glimpse of his face and his georgeous face because it is very clear he don't want me to.
Our room is the same way I left it. All arranged with different books, both how to rule a Kingdom and seduction.
I have tried my possible best for this man yet he still remains the same.
What the hell does he wants? And why does he acts so hard?
And I thought the ladies were the "Hard-To-Get" ones.
I sit on the comfy bed and straightened my neck as I stare out through the window.
The soldiers are fighting within the large premises of the Castle. I promised the people of Rokha safety and the acts that a good Queen can offer.
"Mary... " I call one of my maids
"Yes milady"
"How many batches of barley and wheat do we have?"
"Over five million milady"
Five million. The people of Rokha won't exceed 700 thousand people. The barely will go round and still have much remaining.
I stand up from the bed and head out of the room.
"Come with me"
Meanwhile, Magnus is on his throne. His wolf self is gradually growing to the surface. That's the main reason he couldn't turn to look at Lyla. If he had, the need of his wolfery self will be satisfied by force.
Why isn't she ready? He can't wait forever, he needs his pleasures.
"John!"
A guard that is twice as huge as Von and muscular comes into the throne room and knelt on one knee facing the King.
"Yes Sire"
"What party is on the party menu? Is Naiam holding a feast?"
"Yes your highness. Naiam is holding the occasion of celebrating how it came into existence"
Magnus thought for a second. They would be women there, probably his wolfery self will find interest in them more than it finds interest in Lyla.
"Arrange the horses. We move out tonight"
John nods and leaves the throne room.
If Lyla isn't ready to satisfy his needs, there is definitely someone out there that will.
"Arrange three barns of barley and let the wheat be more than enough" Lyla orders and the servants and maids happily go about their duties.
One by one, the citizens of Rokha started coming into the barns where they have arranged the bags of barley and wheat to collect two bags of it, per family.
"Here you go" Lyla would say when she hands over a bag to a family and the parents will bow deeply, some with tears of joy and happiness because some of them haven't eaten for days now.
Most of them thanked God that they have a Queen like Lyla, causing the Queen to smile widely.
"Thank you" Lyla say to the last family as they depart from the barn.
It's night already. She have been sharing food the whole day now.
"You can all leave with the remaining bags of barley and wheat. Thank you for your help, all of you"
The maids and servants smile widely as they bowed the Queen.
Much bags are still remaining, but somehow, Lyla divided everything and have to each person.
All of them having the same quantity. No reduction, no addition.
They all left Lyla there. All alone.
"Maybe I'll sleep here tonight" she whispers and lay her head on the bag near her and sleep wasn't a problem.
Magnus searched the whole place for Lyla, not seeing her in their room caused him great anxiety.
"Where is her highness?" he asks a maid that just exited the kitchen.
"She was in the barn when I left, your Majesty"
Magnus frowned at this. In the barn? What is she doing there?
"What was she doing?"
"She shared barley and wheat to everyone in the Kingdom with our assistance. When she was through, she gave us the remaining bags and asked us to leave"
All throughout the explanation, the maid stared down at the ground, not daring to look into the eyes of the King.
Magnus, however, boiled.
Was her pain to the extent of staying in a barn?
The worst part is if she sleeps there.
Magnus walked away from the maid and went to the barn.
"Lyla" He called but no one answered him.
It's so dark but the eyes of a dog is something else.
He caught sight of the legs of Lyla paired up together, and she is lying on the truck used to distribute the barley.
Magnus boiled.
