Bai Jingfei batted her eyelashes slowly and carefully.
It was the same precise and formulated motion she had practiced over and over again for situations like this.
"Don't you think you've gotten the wrong people?" she said as she forced herself to start to cry. Through the blur of the tears that flowed out, Bai Jingfei saw a hint of hesitation in the soldier's eyes. It lasted only for a few seconds before the soldier hardened himself and frowned.
"Would the wrong person run like that? You're just trying to get away." said the leader, "You will not escape today, or my name is not captain Hu Zhe!"
"Captain Hu Zhe? Of the imperial Wang army? Wow I've heard so much about you!" she gushed. It was a lie of course. She'd never heard his stinking name once in her life.
"Have you heard of me?" he said, trying to hold back a smile.
