It was almost midnight when the group reached the market.

Bai Jingfei had expected the entire place to be desolate, and the people walking around to be sneaky and anonymous. She'd expected the place to be the perfect spot for shooting a ninja action film, where all the market goers were the ninjas.

She also expected the place to be dimly lit and covered from plain sight.

It was a 'black' market after all.

Shouldn't stuff in a black market be covert, hidden and exciting? Shouldn't there be brawls all over the place and illegal looking things being sold? Shouldn't there be dead elephant heads hanging all over the place as a way for poachers to show their dominance?

Instead, the market was bustling with people and none of them were hiding their faces. It was brightly lit, with colorful lanterns adorning the roads, that gave off a faint golden glow in contrast to the white shine of the moonlight.
