Chapter 5 - When You Were Studying Your ABCs I Was A World Renowned Scientist, You Six Year Old!

It was a beautiful, clear sunny day.

Too bad cave creature Bai Jingfei had a natural aversion toward sunlight.

Unfortunately for her she was going to be spending the day in the sunniest part of the kingdom.

The Royal Palace.

800 Acres of forest land and in the middle, a palace large enough to probably house the whole kingdom. Built on the mountainside overlooking lakes and multiple pagodas, it was beautiful but a little too small for Bai Jingfei's liking.

She'd never want to live there though. The sunlight was enough to keep her away from the location.

Bai Jingfei hissed like a vampire after stepping out from the carriage.

"Are you alright Feifei?" Asked Prime Minister Bai as he exited the carriage right behind her.

Bai Jingfei nodded shyly.

She had decided to not disappoint this poor father of hers, and play a meek and obedient daughter. After all, she was sort of powerless here.

Upon hearing that his daughter wanted to go to a library, Prime Minister Bai got excited. He had never gone anywhere with Bai Jingfei before as she had always been confined to bed rest. He instantly called for a carriage and headed for the palace.

The Royal Family were going to have a rough time today.

Bai Jingfei looked around casually.

They had stopped a few meters away from the library, and Bai Jingfei was already tired from the carriage ride itself.

She walked over to the weeping willow trees overlooking a pond and took shelter from the sun under it. As a cave creature it was her natural instinct.

Prime Minister Bai looked at her in pity. Bai Jingfei's body was weak. Too weak.

Prime Minister Bai was already plotting to feed her a ton of nourishing medicines. After all, she was his only daughter.

Bai Jingfei shivered, unaware of the torture she was going to face.

After a few minutes of rest they entered the library.

The library was huge, the ceiling seemingly reaching the sky and books of all colors piled to the roof. A bunch of handwritten manuscripts were spread all over the tables. Winding stairs went up to the roof where more books were stored.

All in all it was a very impressive library.

Prime Minister Bai brought Bai Jingfei to an empty table before leaving to finish his work. He wanted to accompany his daughter but was too busy to be able to.

Bai Jingfei didn't mind either way.

She walked over to a stack of books as tall as a really tall man and pulled out one labelled "History Part I".

It was surprisingly easy to understand and didn't really bore her very much. Not only was it written in simple language, it had pictures and illustrations to match.

Within an hour she had finished reading it.

'I really am a genius after all' gloated Bai Jingfei.

Ever since she had arrived in this body she had done nothing but make a fool out of herself. On top of that her pride as a "beauty" and "genius" were both somewhat crushed after entering a flat body and having to throw herself on the floor to call a maid.

After the whole "throw yourself on the floor to grab attention from a maid" fiasco was over Bai Jingfei realised she could've just said "excuse me" or dropped the candle holder by itself.

She really had no good reason to yeet herself onto the floor like that.

After finishing part 1, Bai Jingfei went on the hunt for part 2 hoping to learn something more about the place she was in now.

After reading quite a bit of part one she had learnt that this country was named Wang after the royal family, and that it's history spanned almost 20 thousand years.

Bai Jingfei couldn't be bothered with 20 thousand years of history. She was concerned with maybe the last 100 years at most.

She decided to hunt for a further off part, hopefully close to the current era she was in.

As Bai Jingfei reached out for part 7 with her other hand tightly gripping part one, standing on a tiny stool that was probably meant for small children, a tall teenager strode into the library as if he owned the place.

Judging from his attire he probably did own the place.

He was covered from head to toe in royal insignia, embroidered dragons to his name literally written in gold on the sheath of the sword hanging on his waist.

Wang Jun.

The showy and wasteful 3rd prince. Also unloved if you wanted to be mean.

His succession of the throne was nearly impossible. His mother was only a consort and his father didn't really care about him. It was probably why he vented out by acting ostentatiously.

"Who are you! How dare you enter the royal library?" he thundered, giving Bai Jingfei a shock.

Bai Jingfei tumbled off of the little stool she was abusing and crashed onto the floor creating a huge bang and landing on her butt yet again.

With a little groan she rubbed her backside in pain.

Bai 'self harming crasher' Jingfei had bruised herself for the third time this week. Second time if you didn't count her flinging herself off the bed on purpose.

It was obvious that after this many bruises, both to her butt and her ego, Bai Jingfei was incredibly irritable. So much so that she sprung up almost instantly, ready to attack the bastard who made her fall.

She held out part one and brandished it like a sword pointing it at the startled prince.

"How is it any of your business you-" shouted Bai Jingfei.

But before Bai Jingfei's threat could have any effect on Wang Jun, he burst out laughing like a maniac.

"What's so funny?" said Bai Jingfei chillingly.

"Ah look at you reading that book ha ha! Don't you know- that's meant for six year olds-?" laughed Wang Jun, occasionally pausing to laugh and then draw deep breaths.

Bai Jingfei couldn't help but want to burst out in anger.

'When you were studying your ABCs I was a world renowned scientist, you six year old!'
