The mother-son duo didn't talk to each other but they still sat down and eat with each other, the atmosphere was awkward but it was still better than before, they never ate together and this was something new, even though Shawn has not experienced this before he liked it.
Even though he would say that he doesn't like his mother, he really loves her as she is the only blood-related person in his life, he doesn't know who his father is and doesn't care, though his mother is bad, his father is even worse for abandoning him, his mother at least stuck to him and raised him till he was able to fend off for himself.
As they were eating the man who was inside her room walked out, Shawn looked at the man and realized that he was someone else, not the man he saw with her a few days before.
Shawn looked at this man and found him very shady, even though it is not good to judge someone with how they look Shawn cannot help it, the guy has dark messy hair, he has dark circles underneath his eyes and he also has a deep scar going down his cheek, he also has a weird neck tattoo that seems to continue down to his body.
Shawn is not someone who judges people based on how they look but this man in front of him didn't feel right, he had an ominous feeling when it came to this man.
Shawn has seen his mother with many men and some of them were not good people but this man felt completely different from them.
'I really don't know who this is, I shouldn't jump to a conclusion but this really doesn't feel right, I should keep an eye on this man'. Shawn thought as he stared at this man.
This man also looked at Shawn and smirked, in his eyes, Shawn is just a kid wet behind his ears who relies on his whore of a mother.
Debra noticed the awkward situation but she didn't say anything, she decided it is best to keep quiet, she looked at her new lover and signaled him to go away, the man looked at Debra and then walked back to her room after picking up a slice of bread from the table.
Shawn finished his breakfast and went back to his room and started to get ready for the university, on his way out of his house he heard his mother's moans again, he couldn't help but feel a little bit disgusted as he slammed the door behind him and walked out.
His day wasn't any different from any other days, there was nothing new except Shawn getting lost in his own thoughts, now that he has this power, he doesn't know what to do with it, should he become a superhero and use it for good or should he take advantage of his power for his own personal gain.
What else could he do other than these two things, he is no villain, he is not cold-hearted to put innocent lives at risk nor is he a benevolent person who will risk his own life to save others.
Once classes were done, Shawn headed to Professor Newmon's lab and did his usual tasks provided to him, since Professor is someone he trusts more than anyone, Shawn had nothing to hide from him, and having a mind like Professor Newmon behind him has more advantage than going lone wolf in this dangerous world.
Though Shawn can hide his powers and make sure no one finds out, he knows he will be put into situations again and again because this is the type of world he lives in, people die every day because of super-powered people.
He was already put in a spot yesterday when he had to make a decision and save two women, one young and one old and Shawn knows for a fact that people are looking into that incident, and it's not just the police.
Surviving alone in this world is nearly impossible unless you are god itself and there still be might something out there that can kill a god, this world is one big fucking hell hole and normal people are living at the mercy of superpowered ones but very few realize it.
Now that Shawn has become one of the superpowered ones, he needs to be even more careful, there will be people out there who might want him, either for manpower or for experiments if he gets exposed. He cannot risk getting caught or found out and for that, he needs people who he trusts and ones who are willing to help him no matter what happens.
Professor Newmon being one of them, even though both of them only known each other for a few years, they are like father and son, Professor Newmon never had a son to care about nor did Shawn have a father to look up to, so both of them found themselves in each others company fulfilling a role they never expected to have in their life.

Professor Newmon continued to test Shawn and kept him under observation when they were done with their work, the more Newmon looked into Shawn's physic the more questions popped up in his mind.
Shawn's skin became so strong that even after trying to cut it open with a surgical knife, it failed, it didn't even leave a mark behind.
He could only try to figure out what is going on inside Shawn's body through x-rays and read his body stats by putting Shawn through some physical exercise and recording his pulses, heart rate, oxygen intake, and all the things that could help him understand what is going on inside Shawn's body.
And from all the data Professor Newmon has gathered, Shawn has shown stability and has also shown exceptional advance human feet that should not be possible, for example, his stamina. Professor Newmon found nothing that would indicate that Shawn is lacking oxygen even after sprinting for a few minutes.
As the tests went on Shawn became more confident that nothing is wrong with his body and the accident came as a gift and not a disaster.

The day was about to come to an end so Shawn decided it was time to leave, he bid farewell to Professor Newmon and left for his house.
On the way he stopped at his usual coffee shop and grabbed a large cup of coffee and spent some time there looking through the usual news, this has somehow become a routine for him.
Reading through the same type of news over and over again, Shawn got bored and returned to his house.
When he got back he noticed that the door was locked, he opened the door with the spare key and entered, he looked around and saw that the house was not clean at all, things were all over the place.
Shawn sighed in frustration as he didn't like to litter stuff so he needs to clean this place up, as he was about to start cleaning he thought of something and decided to use his super speed.
He removed his clothes and put them to the side, even though he is not planning to go all out, he didn't want to risk burning his clothes again, after getting completely naked he moved and suddenly disappeared from his spot.
A powerful gust blew around the house as things disappeared from the floor and appeared elsewhere in the house, within a few seconds the whole house was cleaned.
Shawn then suddenly appeared in front of the tv with a boom completely naked and looked around with a goofy smile on his face, if someone was present here right now they would look at Shawn and think he is some kind of weirdo.
