With his vision returning back to him, it was time for him to make his move, with everything slowed down around him, he started to move.
He ran towards the two who are in danger, as he ran he realized that he was running faster than he expected, he thought that to him his running pace would be the same as when he would run normally but it was not.
He thought that since his perception of time increased and along with it his own speed, he could run fast but he won't feel fast, for example, he could run from his university to his house in a few seconds but to Shawn, it would feel like he ran all the way till his house at a normal pace like any normal person would feel because of his perception of time.
But it seems not to be the case, he felt faster than he would ever run, if he ran from his spot to where the two ladies are it would take him a few seconds but he arrived there in a second in his own time perspective.
He appeared right in front of the young girl who seems to be in shock and her eyes displayed fear, he then turned his head towards the old lady and she was not doing any better either but there seems to be acceptance in her eyes, as she has lived her life and is now very old, death isn't something she is afraid of but she never expected it would come this way, being crushed under a van because of some robbers.
Shawn knew he has to be careful here, he cannot just lift them and move around as their bodies are not indestructible, he could snap their neck if he moves them without supporting them.
He first moves behind the old woman and supports the back of her head and moved her to the side and put her against a wall so that she won't move around afterward, he then went behind the young woman and supported her head with his hand and pulled her to the side as well and placed her against the wall alongside the old woman.
He then looked around to see if anyone else might be in danger and he did find a few people who might get hit by rubbles or glass, so he moved all of them away from the scene and returned back to the spot he was standing on.
Once he got back there, he stopped using his powers and everything sped up in an instant.
He watched the black van crash against the wall and crumble, its windshield and windows shattered causing glass shards to fly everywhere but the most surprising thing that everyone noticed was how the two women, the young and the old disappeared from their spot and reappeared a few meters away from the crash site with their backs against a wall.
Some people didn't even notice them and thought that they got crushed by the van and are now lying underneath it, as for the bobbers inside the van no one knows about them and what is their condition right now.
The police car which was right behind them stopped right next to the crashed van and walked out with their guns aimed at the van.
"Why the fuck did you shoot?" The officer who was driving the car said while carefully advancing towards the van.
"I saw the chance and took the shot, they could have escaped and were already firing at us, they could have put civilians in danger". The officer who shot said and approached the van alongside his partner.
Once they got close, the officer who shot bent down to look inside the van and he was not surprised to see the result, both robbers in the driving and passenger seat are dead, their heads are completely caved in.
"Both of them are dead". He said and got back to his feet and walked towards the back door of the van, his partner followed and aimed his gun at the back door while the shooting officer opened the door, more police arrived at the scene and got out of their car and pointed their guns at the door so that if the robbers try to do something stupid, they will be riddled with bullets.
Once the door was opened the inside was visible to everybody, two robbers were on the floor of the van with their conditions unknown, there are also bags of cash which is filled with millions of dollars.
The shooting officer and his partner entered the van and checked on the two robbers and it looks like they didn't die but are in critical condition, ems was called instantly and the robbers were taken away to the nearest hospital with a bunch of police.
The police then closed off the scene and asked civilians to clear the area except for a few witnesses and the two ladies who just performed a miracle as they need to be questioned.
Seeing that everything was fine, he decided to leave the scene and return home.
On his way back home, he started to think about what he did, he didn't know how he felt right now, he thought that he would feel good by saving those two ladies but he also left the robbers to die.
He could have easily saved them by dragging them out of the van and putting them aside but he did let the two robbers in the front die, he didn't know why but at the moment he didn't think about them at all.
As he reasoned with himself, he thought that their death was brought on themselves because of their action, they robbed and were shooting in a civilian area where people are walking around but then he also realized that the two ladies would have also died if he didn't have his powers.
He just made a judgment on people's lives based solely on his morals, he saw things as black and white and he knows there is no black and white, there is always a middle ground, the ladies were the good ones and they need to be saved while the robbers were the bad ones and he didn't need to save them, he then wondered what was the middle ground, should he have saved them all or should he have let them all die and not get involved at all.
This thought started to weigh on him as he arrived in front of his house, he walked in and went straight to his bed and fell on it, closing his eyes he drifted into a deep sleep.
