He took a short breath before continuing his story. "Do you know why I never celebrate my birthday? It's because the day my mom got arrested was my birthday. It was the last day I saw her. Ever. And this person is a cheap carbon copy of mom for the world. She is the reason she is dead and forgotten, most of all. My mother. My beloved mother was forgotten because she replaced her. But she can never replace my mom in my heart. My mom was nothing like her. She was kind and loving. She was an amazing cook and had such a soothing voice. When she sang to me at night, it felt like the angels from heaven were singing. When she comforted me when I was upset, I could ease up instantly."
Another breath. "You have no idea what she meant to me. And yet you still sit with her. Any other person on this damn planet would have been with her, I wouldn't even care to look in that direction. But you!! Seriously Jennifer! You know what you mean to me and that is why you are exploiting it. You know I will not bear the sight of you with her or anywhere near her or a within a radius of 1 km of her, alone. You knew that. Tell me! That was the reason you sat with her. You knew about me loathing her. Huh!"
When Adrian finally took a long breath after finishing his long speech, Jennifer realized the amount of hurt she had caused him. She wanted it to be small, just like teasing him but it was very serious and beyond her. Adrian and Crystal's relationship was polluted by so much bitterness and hate, she never had an idea of that. If she would, she wouldn't even look at her filthy cockroach like face. Jennifer was now feeling really bad about what she did to Adrian. Adrian had never hurt her. He had never even thought of hurting her and Jennifer had crossed all limits of hurt. "Adrian, I'm sorry." She said slowly, her silent tears returning to the brim of her eyes.
Adrian noticed that and turned around, rubbing his temple with his thumb and index finger. He was angry and in his anger he had scolded her too much. Something she deserved but Adrian's heart was soft for her. He couldn't bare the fact of her feeling sad. "It's okay. You didn't know about this. It's not your fault." Adrian said with his back facing Jennifer. Jennifer felt even more sad when she noticed that Adrian couldn't even look at her.
She hurriedly moved before Adrian could get outside the room and hugged him with all the strength she had. Adrian melted under her touch, finally. He hugged her back after a gap of few seconds, showing her that he was still angry but loved her anyways. "Adrian, let me make it up to you." Jennifer said as she led him on the bed again. What! No. Jennifer was seriously not thinking about THAT! (You know what I mean!)
She laid Adrian on the bed and snuggled closer to him. Wrapped her tiny arms around his torso as Adrian put one arm under her head to support her. She looked him in the eye and finally took a deep breath to began her apology. "Adrian, I'm sorry…" Adrian tried stopping her as he had already forgiven her but she put a finger on his lips. "Let me say it. I'm sorry Adrian. I never knew that this would hurt you so much. I just wanted you to know how angry I was when Debbie was flirting with you. I was literally burning. When she touched your fingers and you didn't do anything at all. When I asked you and you said that you were dating her, I almost killed her in my mind over and over again until her ghost was no more there to take birth. I don't know the reason of your behavior and I am not demanding any explanation now. Do it when you are ready. I'll wait for it. But just know that even though you have broken up with me to honor the deal you made with my father, I never broke up with you. I still love you and I still hope that there will be a day when we both can date openly, without worrying about my father or your enemies."
When Jennifer finally became quiet, Adrian had almost cried hundred times already in his mind. This girl was so pure and understanding. She was such an adorable person. How could anyone not fall for her. She wasn't angry for what he did to her in school. She said that she will wait for an explanation until he was ready. How nice! Can anyone get a girlfriend like me? Nah!! I will never find anyone like you, I swear. Adrian pulled Jennifer closer and enveloped her in the warmth of his body. Not only physical but emotional as well.
Jennifer always had a fantasy about running her fingers over her boyfriend's abs, so she lightly traced Adrian's abs but Adrian hissed in pain. She had put too much pressure and Adrian was hurt. "Oh my god! Did I hurt you? I'm so sorry." Jennifer quickly apologized. "No. It wasn't you. It has been hurting for a while and I decided to move. That is why I hissed." Adrian explained. Jennifer put some space in between them. She didn't want Adrian to get hurt, even by mistake. "You should take rest." She said but Adrian pulled her back. "I am already resting with you near me. Why don't you stay tonight? It's too late. Go home early morning." He offered. Jennifer thought for a while and then pulled out her phone to text her mother that she will be staying at a friend's house tonight.
After about 20 texts and a phone call, Jennifer's mother allowed her to stay. When Jennifer returned in bed, she was instantly pulled by Adrian. "Stay close to me. I like it." He said and sadly thought, "Its only for tonight."
