Jennifer greeted James politely while Adrian engulfed him in a hug. "So, you both came together, which means that you spent the night together. How is he in bed?" James teased Jennifer. Jennifer knew that he was joking so she answered "Not that good." while Adrian lightly punched James in the ribs because he was flustered. "We kept our distance. Okay? No more inquiry needed." Adrian said, though he was blushing visibly.
At the same moment, Abby and Winston passed by them. "Oh Abby, hi!" Jennifer called out. Abby turned and her jaw was left hanging. Adrian and James moved closer to Jennifer out of protectiveness. But the one who was most affected was Winston. He quickly marched up to them and tried to grab Jennifer's wrist but she pulled back. "Maintain your distance." she said sternly. "Jennifer, what are you doing with him?" Winston made a disgusted face to Adrian.
"That's none of your business." Jennifer said while rolling her eyes. She was angry on how Winston had treated her first and now how he was suspecting Adrian. Blinded by her fury, she grabbed Adrian's arm went to into the class, leaving Winston behind.
When she got into her class, she let out a sigh of remorse. Just then, the teacher entered the class. So, they both settled down on their seats. The teacher announced that a project about the current chapter had to be handed over by the end of the week. She said that she will be the one making pairs. All the children groaned in annoyance but nothing could be done.
They all sat in silence, with their heartbeats racing, mentally praying to get a co-operative partner or maybe one of their friends. When it was time to choose a partner of Jennifer, she stood up. The teacher opened her mouth to say the name of her partner. Jennifer's heart was also racing. Since Jennifer was a nice girl, she did not have problem with almost anybody on the class. She was okay to be paired up with anybody, but right now, she prayed that the teacher did not say "Winston" as her partner.
She really needed a break from Winston. To her enormous relief, the teacher said "Adrian, please team up with Jennifer for this project." Hearing these words, Adrian happiness skyrocketed. He had been praying for this thing only. He quickly got up and said "Okay miss." After some time, the class was dismissed. A few classes later, it was lunch break. Jennifer, James and Adrian walked towards the cafeteria.
Jennifer tried calling Abby many times during the day, but Abby either ignored her or gave her short replies. Jennifer did not understand. They were walking into the cafeteria, when Adrian said "So we have to prepare for the project. Are you free this evening?" "Yeah. You should come over at my house. We'll study at my place. My parents have to go at a business meeting, so we will be home alone." Jennifer said smiling sweetly.
"Oh! So you wanna be home alone!" James said teasing both of them, which immediately made their eyes widen. "Oh my god! James, we're just friends!" Jennifer said instantly. "I am fighting with my boyfriend, but that doesn't mean I'll cheat on him!" she added. "Okay! Now let's stop and go for our classes." Adrian said quickly, hoping that this conversation would stop. James gave Adrian a smirk before getting up and walking away. Jennifer and Adrian also went to their classes.
Soon, the school was over and students were dispersing. Jennifer too was walking towards the school gate when out of nowhere, Debbie appeared and said "So nowadays, Miss Jennifer is hanging out with Adrian, the man of everybody's dream." "Um, excuse me, but that's none of your business." Jennifer said, wanting to get out of the situation quickly. She knew that Debbie could get meaner than a bobcat without a blowhole.
But being stubborn, Debbie grabbed her by the wrist and spun her around. "Listen to me. Adrian is mine and if you lay as much as a finger on him, I'll shred you to pieces." and with that Debbie turned around and stomped out of the school. Jennifer knew that she was jealous, so she ignored her. Since her mother and father both were at the company, she was alone.
So she grabbed some snacks and went into her room. She turned on the music to the highest volume and started grooving around. After some time, she heard the door bell ring. She looked at the clock. "That must be Adrian." she thought as she looked into the mirror to see if everything was okay and headed to the living room. A servant had already opened the door.
She found Adrian with books in his hands. "May I come in?" he asked politely. Jennifer nodded, greeted him in and brought him to the living room. "So, shall we start?" he asked out of the blue. "Adrian, you just came, let's start after some time." "Alright." he said. "Let me make you a coffee." Jennifer said. Though there were many servants in the house, she wanted it to make it herself because he was a close friend and she knew that Adrian loved coffee.
"No, it's fine." Adrian said quickly. He did not want to look like a burden, plus he was flustered on being asked by his crush. Jennifer was internally confused but she nodded and smiled a bit. "So, shall we start?" Jennifer said, placing her box of chart papers on the table. "Yes, so I made a planner for this project, you can check it out." Adrian handed out his notebook, and she gave it a through read. "This is so well planned!" She compliments with a grin and soon they began their project.
