Chapter 7 - The Devourer of Existence

[Endless Entity POV]

"I have been defeated, it seems…" I thought as I've awoken from my deep slumber once more. It had been centuries since that bastard hero, and his legions defeated me in a battle and ended the cycle of fate that should've been done.

My name is Endless Entity, The Devourer of Existence. That was the name and title that I had carried for countless ages in this repeated cycle of doomsday that I went into.

As the God of the End, I only had one task, to devour the universe that had been corrupted way too much, and savour everyone, especially those with pure-hearted ones who fell into corruption, debauchery, and despair, making them my meal so I can sleep in my deep slumber once more until my next meal. I shall be satisfied and with my stomach full of the screaming agony of the pure-hearted one.

If you think I will be the sound of justice who would put the hammer upon injustice, then you couldn't be more wrong. I am the injustice who would put an end upon your tiny speck of hope and your false sense of security.

I am the God of the End, Endless Entity.

I have no other intention other than eating my fill to replenish my energy and leave the world at reset, let these tiny humans rebuild their civilization before they'd corrupt their own civilization.

But I could always send my envoy, my Brides and Grooms to corrupt them, in case the meal was not ready yet.

It was such a simple life for a god, indeed. But that simple life I had been keeping for countless ages… have been disturbed by a hero and his legions. There would always be a hero or two who would emerge to fight me during my meal, but they were mostly too feeble to even scratch me.

But that hero who defeated me… was a bit special than the rest. He came from another world. Yes, he apparently transmigrated into my world to save it from the end. He wanted to disturb my tradition.

It was also partly my fault because I thought he was just another feeble knight that I could kill with one or two Brides at most. Who would've expected that he got a power-up, a system they called it.

He got a system of some sort that allowed him to cheat and get as much power-up as he wanted, like a cheater who took everything before he faced me. I didn't expect it to be a real threat, and he actually defeated me when I wasn't ready. He also brought his legions full of transmigrated heroes and defeated my previous brides and grooms.

After I had been defeated, I went back to my deep slumber, waiting for the right time to come back for revenge.

"He must've been staying in this world. I've heard that he became a shining god that protected this world for centuries," I wondered as I put some of my consciousness to the diamond crystal ball that was prepared to contain my power. This was the only way for me to exist in this world without making too much ruckus.

That hero sealed the original overwhelming power of mine within six holy gods, acting as a guardian to keep my power sealed within their bodies. Meanwhile, I've also sealed half of my power within seven deadly demons before that hero defeated me.

"I still can't believe a mere human could defeat me and ascend into godhood," I thought. But here I am, defeated, with the majority of my power sealed within seven deadly demons and six holy gods.

My current situation right now was just a speck, a powerful existence that I was back then—the most powerful god to end the world when it was due time.

But now, I have been awakened after my defeat and was very… very hungry.

I want to eat everything again, but I couldn't do it instantly. This world had been protected by the power of the hero that defeated me and had ascended to Godhood now. He even went as far as sealing my power to six holy gods and buried it deep within six kingdoms.

"So be it, then. I will take all my powers back from him. I will challenge that bastard hero even as two colossal gods. This world shall end. It shall be devoured once more!"

But first, I need to regain all my lost strength from seven deadly demons and six holy gods. And to do that, I have to find a good body first, a body suitable to handle constantly craving energy inside my belly and a body that could handle my future growing power as I devour the seven demons and six holy gods. I couldn't let myself stuck in this diamond crystal ball forever. I have to get a real body.

It was just… there was no excellent body even after a century of my awakening. No creatures could contain at least this very small power of mine.

Demons, beastmen, humans, gnomes, elves, even after one bride of mine was able to kidnap an angel, that angel turned into ashes right when I transferred part of my soul.

I thought it'd take a long time, until Lady Mephistopheles, one of my new bride, and also the… strangely obsessed one, discovered news about a transmigrated hero with a system in a small village, as he went to his journey to 'protect' the world from the impending doom of Endless Entity.

Lady Mephistopheles grinned as she saw the diamond crystal ball in front of her slowly floated with an orange eyeball popped inside, a yellow blast automatically shot like a laser beam towards Lady Mephistopheles. The lady opened her mouth, swallowing the yellow blast before licking her lips.

"Thank you for the meal, Milord," Lady Mephistopheles said.

Endless Entity stared at Lady Mephistopheles and decided to ignore what he just witnessed.

"Have you located that transmigrated hero with a system?" he asked.

"Yes, Milord. His name is Toshifumi Gen. Apparently, he transmigrated from an unknown place called Japan, and yes, Milord, he has a system."
