"Why? Why they have to go away? Why they have to die?"
"Well they are humans, we all are. Every living being including humans die someday. In this world, there is only one immortal entity, God! "
"God ha. Well if that is the case then I will become one and I will defeat the death. I'll become God!"
A sudden sound breaks the conversation. 'What was that? A dream? Not again, I'm having these strange dreams evey night. The thing about these strange dreams is that they don't even feel like dreams. They are very clear so that it feels like I've live them. Like they are my memories!' He stopped the alarm in his phone which caused the sound that waked him up.
He got out of the bed and started being ready for the school thinking about these dreams. After doing breakfast, he left his house. Without saying goodbye as there was no one to say that to. He was living alone since he was 14. His mother left this world when he was 5 yrs old. His relationship with his father was quite not good.
As he was on his way to his school, he realised that today was not a normal day. Today was the 'Victory Day' as 1 year ago on this day, Humanity became Victorious by defeating the most scariest thing in the world, Death! The God itself gave humanity the secret of immortality. This so called God is supposed to come to the school for an event held on this occasion. He stood up for minute looking to a poster on a wall of a building which was mentioning that this God has given us the true peace. "Peace huh, looks like these foolish people don't even understand the meaning of 'true peace'. They can only see the thing which is in front of them, but they can't see the truth lying behind that. I won't blame them, after all that is the 'humans' for you." Seems like he didn't like this whole concept of immortality.
He reached the school which was looking much different than it looks normally. It was decorated so much that it wasn't looking like school at all. After all 'God' was coming there! Too much crowd was standing there eagerly waiting for there God to come. Their excitement was all over the place. Our 'He' finally reaches to the gate of school by making his way in that crowd where his friends and teachers were waiting for him. Well our 17 yr old 'he' was actually very talented and comparatively smart than others. He was also good looking and cool minded but of shy personality. But these are not the only things. For the matter of fact, 'He' was the son of their beloved God!
"Please welcome Master Reed Williams! The son of our great God Charls Williams! who gave the humanity a new hope and true peace. It is the honour for us that he has blessed our school. We all will pleased if you come on the stage and address all of us Ms. Williams."
'Ever since that day when this 'immortality' got an official approval of all the nations, this school and these people are acknowledging me as the 'Son of God'. That's the day I started hating school even more. Except some of my friends who actually know about my relationship with my father, everyone else just treat me like I'm a king or something! Sometimes it gets even worse that It gets very hard for me to keep my cool. Just like now. What am I suppose to say to these foolish people anyway? I can feel there eyes staring at me. This was no time to freeze, not in front of these many people.'
As he started moving towards the stage his heart started to beat faster and faster. After all it was his first time to speak in front of this many people. By storing all the courage he needed he reached on the stage. He was supposed to speak something about this immortality stuff. But the thing was, he never had interest in that subject. And after all his father was it's pioneer, he never wanted to learn anything about that.
" Hi.. and ...Good morning to all! Well today we all are celebrating the 'Victory Day', so I.... I wish you blessings of this beautiful day." 'This is very hard than I imagined. To speak something good on a subject that I hate most in front of so many people.' Suddenly a man asked him loudly, " Please sir, if you don't mind, can you tell something about this immortality stuff and how it really works?" 'There it comes, I was definitely expecting this question. But what should I say now? That I don't have any single clue about this? No, it will adversely affect my profile. I won't let that happen. Then what should I do? I also can't freeze here. I must say something'.
"Well you see.... " Suddenly something strange happened. 'What is going on? It feels like those strange dreams I am getting these days.' In that moment, life of a whole person just flash before his eyes. And as soon he can understand anything, he started speaking. "As you know that our body is made up of some amazing organs which complete very complex processes by using extremely surprising mechanism. And the most amazing organ in our body is of course our brain. The main and most important organ in our entire body. We can say that our body is a machine controlled by our brain. When our brain stops working, our body stops working resulting in death. Bus as I told you, our brain is the most amazing organ in our body. So when a person dies, some specific cells in brain still lives for a specific time period and these cells act as a memory card of our brain. So all our memory still lives but remain not functional as the body can't keep up with them. So far the solution, a body or I will say a mechanical body is made with similar functionality as a human brain, so that the memories of that person can live again and so that person. Which means that the implantation of the memory is the key to immortality! As in this process mechanical bodies are used, these reborn humans are also called the mechamortals. These mechamortals can't get old, which makes them truly immortal!"
His excitement was flowing like a river while talking. His arms were in air, his whole body was sweating. And then there was the cheering of the audience who also got excited while listening. 'I don't understand! What the hell is going on? I don't recall reading about this stuff then how do I know this? And that's not the only question, Why I am so excited about this? It feels like I hate this subject and i don't know anything about it, but at the same time I know everything about it and I'm also very interested in this. I'm so confused!'
*CLAP* *CLAP* *CLAP*
suddenly that loudness of the cheering changed into a deep silence when somebody enters by clapping hands. Everybody started looking at the source of that sound and that silence once again changed into a loudness of people cheering for their 'God'! Yes he was arrived! The so called 'God' of this so called 'World of The Immortals'. He started walking towards the stage and Reed at the same time started leaving the stage. And at some point they both passed by each other without making any eye contact. In that moment, Charls said to Reed, "looks like your mind has changed after all!" "Give me a break!"
Charles arrived on the stage with some of his men. Reed also got away from the stage and approach to the exit. Everybody was so excited to hear what their God is going to tell them. But when he was finally going to open his mouth, The wall opposite to the stage exploded! Everybody gets frightened and starting running away without knowing what was going on. And from that explosion, some shadows entered the building. 'Those weard looking masks and those black robes. No doubt about it, they are 'them'! They are 'The Angels of The Death'!
