One week felt so fast for Yujin and Jinwoo. It felt like just yesterday they were talking about all their plans for their life after marriage. And today suddenly everything has happened. Jinwoo and Yujin are now officially married.
This morning they had their wedding vows at Seoul's largest church which is the grand church in South Korea.
Tonight they are holding a wedding reception in a ball room of a five-star hotel which is the best hotel in Seoul.
Yujin, who was wearing a gold nihtgown, looked so elegant and beautiful. She with a smile greeted every guest present while embracing Jinwoo's stiff arm next to her.
The man had been silent for a long time without curling the corners of his lips slightly to greet the guests who had come. His demeanor was a complete contrast to Yujin's warm and cheerful demeanor. No wonder many invited guests talk about their contrasting, cold and warm aura.
"General, smile a little," whispered Yujin while greeting the guests present tonight.
Jinwoo simply ignored his wife's whispers and kept a cold, even face to greet every guest who came to shake hands with him.
"Why is it so hard to make you look friendly. They're talking about us, general." Yujin growled annoyed.
"They have no right to rule our lives." Jinwoo replied flatly as usual.
Yujin couldn't help but sigh behind the big smile she showed everyone. Getting Jinwoo to be warm in front of everyone was almost impossible. The man is too rigid and upholds his ideals. He would never want to show his friendly demeanor which he thought would be very ridiculous if he did.
"How long are we going to do something stupid like this?"
Yujin began to notice Jinwoo's discomfort. The man had been wanting to take her away from the very full ball room. But this is all because president Kang has many relationships. There's no way they were allowed to leave the ball room first, while they were the main characters. The only thing Jinwoo had to do now was be patient until the invited guests came home later.
"Be patient. Your father had many friends and collegues. We can't just go home."
"I'm sick of being here." Jinwoo hissed stifled.
Yujin tried to calm Jinwoo by holding the man's hand. Even though she knew Jinwoo would not return her hand, but at least Yujin tried to show the man that she cared about him.
"After this event is over, we will go straight to my house."
Yujin turned quickly to Jinwoo and showed a protesting face. She had prepared a room full of rose petals in her house. If she returned to the man's house, then who would occupy the bridal chamber?
"To your gloomy house?"
"What are you saying?"
"Your gloomy house. Why do we have to go back there after marriage. Can't we just stay at my dad's for a week. I haven't prepared anything to bring to your house."
"I am your husband now, so you must obey whatever I command."
Yujin immediately looked at Jinwoo disapprovingly and wanted to protest the man again. She felt Jinwoo was unfair. She who loves that man with all her heart and she who wants this marriage. But the man can rule over their marriage relationship. Supposedly if the man had just been forced to marry her, he wouldn't have needed to set the rules that looked like a real marriage. Moreover, she was the one who would be harmed more by Jinwoo's demeanor. He made her look like a miserable wife and a lucky wife at the same time.
Several times she heard the sneers of women who said she would suffer after marrying the rigid Lee Jinwoo. In addition, there are also those who feel jealous of her because she managed to get the handsome general Lee, whose toughness cannot be doubted. So what should she do now? Happy? Obviously she was happy that she could finally marry Lee Jinwoo, the prince in her dreams. But her pleasure will not be compared to the bitterness she will feel after this. Facing Jinwoo's fickle attitude would greatly test her emotions. Not to mention if Jinwoo's dark side appears, she must be prepared with all the consequences. Even death.
"Let us go home."
"What?"
Yujin looked up in surprise and wanted to demand an explanation from Jinwoo because all the invited guests had not yet returned completely. But the man had already dragged her home.
"This show has been declared over by that stupid MC. I don't want to waste my time just standing there like a display. We're going home now."
"But what about your parents and my father. They are still busy welcoming the guests who had just arrived. We can't leave this event as you please," said Yujin while lifting her dress up high because Jinwoo kept pulling her hand until she almost fell because of the long dress itself.
"Ahh… my dress! General, you nearly knocked me down by stepping on my own dress." Yujin shouted as she continued to try to balance her wobbly steps.
She looks like a toddler just learning to walk due to her high heels and dangling dress. Jinwoo suddenly stopped his steps and immediately carried Yujin without heeding the woman's surprised scream.
"Yakkk… what is this. Put me down!"
Yujin whispered softly while hiding her bright red face behind Jinwoo's chest. All the invited guests seemed to smile seductively at them seeing Jinwoo's romantic action holding his wife. Even though Jinwoo did that because he was uncomfortable hearing Yujin's chatter about her dress being stepped on or her heels that interfered with her steps and made her almost fall. He just wanted to go home and get away as soon as possible from the crowds that were there.
"Father, Yujin and I are going home now."
"You're going home?"
Im Jaehyuk and Kang Hyunjeong were surprised to see Jinwoo carrying Yujin and seemed in a hurry to go home, even though there were still many guests who had just arrived. Mrs. Kang who saw that immediately approached her son and reprimanded him.
"Stay a little while longer. There are many more guests to come later."
"Sorry mom, but Yujin already looks tired. We have to go home now."
Yujin snorted inwardly while casting a disapproving look at Jinwoo. The man casually used herself as an excuse, even though she never complained of being tired. Instead, she still wanted to linger in the ball room to welcome the guests who had just arrived.
"Alright then. You're going back to father's house right?" Mr. Im asked Jinwoo.
"Sorry father, we're going back to my house."
"Father..."
Yujin looked at her father regretfully because she could now not refute Jinwoo's will. The man has become her husband, and she is obliged to follow all her husband's wishes.
"Then be careful. Yujin, I will definitely miss you."
Yujin wanted to get down from Jinwoo's arms and cuddle with her father. But the man didn't allow her to get down and kept her tightly in his arms. Jinwoo was just lazy to wait for Yujin to cuddle with her father which would definitely take a long time because Yujin is a spoiled woman.
"See you father... mother..."
Yujin waved at her father and mother who were looking at her with concerned eyes. They were all aware of Jinwoo's firm and rigid demeanor. So they couldn't do anything to stop Jinwoo from bringing Yujin home.
-00-
"General Lee, put me down! I'm embarrassed. I can walk alone." Yujin shouted when they were outside the ball room towards the special parking lot.
Jinwoo ignored Yujin's screams and continued to carry Yujin bridal style because he was lazy to wait for Yujin's slow steps. The woman's heavy dress would definitely be the reason Yujin didn't walk quickly after him. Yet he was tired and hot. He wanted to quickly take off his suit and change into comfortable casual clothes.
"General Lee! Are you listening to me or not?"
"I listen to you because I have ears too."
"Then put me down now. I can walk alone."
"Shut up! We'll be there soon."
Yujin snorted in irritation in Jinwoo's arms. The man again annoyed her with his harsh and cold demeanor. She really had to be extra patient after this because from now on she would be a part of Lee Jinwoo's stiff and cold life.
"Where's your ring?"
When getting off Jinwoo's arms, Yujin did not see their wedding ring on Lee Jinwoo's ring finger. The woman angrily flipped her husband's palm which was immediately thrown by Jinwoo because he was uncomfortable.
"Come in."
"Where are our wedding rings? You took it off? Why? It is a sign that you are married. You can't just take it off and wander around without the ring. People will think you're a free, single man."
Jinwoo did not wait for Yujin to finish her series of sentences. Instead, he pushed Yujin into his car and quickly put Yujin on his seat belt before the woman's nagging mouth opened again.
"General Lee! Arghh..."
Yujin shouted in annoyance in her husband's car. Sometimes she doesn't understand herself, why she can love an annoying man like Jinwoo. She should have married a romantic man who could understand her well. Not a cold man who is very quiet like Jinwoo.
"Can you shut up. I have a headache."
Jinwoo took off his suit and unbuttoned his shirt one by one. Yujin who saw that immediately turned her face to another way with a face that was already bright red. She is very nervous now. Moreover, Jinwoo was currently shirtless next to her.
"Please get my clothes in the back."
"Wha-what?"
Yujin couldn't help but turn to the side and saw Jinwoo looking at her with his eagle eyes.
"Please get my clothes behind your chair."
Yujin looked like a stupid woman in front of Jinwoo by admiring Jinwoo's muscular body first before turning to take a T-shirt tucked behind her chair.
"Here, you're looking for this thing aren't you."
Yujin turned to Jinwoo and saw the man showing his necklace with their wedding ring on it. Instantly Yujin felt embarrassed because she had been yelling at Jinwoo like a wild woman for a long time, even though Jinwoo was using their wedding ring as a necklace.
"You didn't say it." Yujin commented quietly.
"I don't like to talk too much, I prefer to show it with action."
"But women can't be like that," said Yujin annoyed.
Women seem to clearly need answers in the form of words, not in the form of actions that are sometimes only able to be understood by the man himself.
"Learn to understand me from now on."
"General, I sometimes confuse myself. Why can I fall in love with you, when you often irritate me and scream like a wild woman. If you want me to understand you, you have to understand me too."
"I'm ready to marry you, so don't demand anything from me."
Yujin is silent. She would always be silent if Jinwoo had attacked her with direct words about the reason he married her. He always had the upper hand and thought he had done a great thing by marrying her, even though she had sacrificed just as much as he had. She sacrificed her comfortable life to follow him and become a good wife. Even though he did love the man, it didn't mean that Jinwoo could treat her as he pleased. She hated being in this position. She really wanted to cry now and be back with her father. She didn't want to live with Jinwoo.
"Wipe your tears. I don't like having a whiny wife."
Yujin burst into tears. Jinwoo's words had gone too far. She who in her twenty-two years of life had never received harsh treatment from her father was not used to such hurtful words. She really had to harden her heart from this second so that she wouldn't feel pain every time Jinwoo threw harsh words in front of her.
"Even my father never scolded me, why are you scolding me," said Yujin annoyed while wiping the tears that were still flowing down her cheeks.
Jinwoo really felt furious at Yujin's childish. He was not used to dealing with spoiled and crybaby women like Yujin.
"I'm not your father. Your whiny and spoiled demenaor will trouble me, so throw away all your spoiled demeanor from now on because you have to live independently after this. Tomorrow you have to cook and prepare all my needs. There is no maid working in my house. I only have a few soldiers who will guard my house. The rest you do all the household chores yourself."
"Then what about my studies?"
"Did I forbid you to go to college? You will still go to college after you finish your assignments."
"You really want me to be your wife or your servant?" Yujin replied annoyed. Actually, she doesn't mind the household chores that will be her later duties. She was only annoyed by the way Jinwoo ordered her which seemed like he was ordering a servant.
"It's up to you whether you want to think of yourself as my wife or my servant."
She gave up! She really gave up arguing with Lee Jinwoo. That man truly had a tongue as sharp as a deadly knife. Each of her words managed to be answered by the man with scathing words that sounded both painful and annoying. She finally chose to close her eyes and cool her smoky head. She hoped that when she opened her eyes, everything would change for the better.
