Chapter 136 - Starting the Dungeon Clear

Mitsuna sat at the entrance of the dungeon.

'If my knowledge on Dungeons is accurate and the System Update that happened when I was dead didn't change the Dungeon mechanics too much then the main rules should be...'

Mitsuna started counting using her fingers as she recalled the mechanics that the Dungeons and Sanctuaries have.

'Up to 10 floors. Constant monster spawns. Sometimes there's a treasure chest. When the last boss is killed and a new boss is not chosen in 7 days the Dungeon breaks apart. Commonly referred to as a Monster Den. Basically just a simple and safer version of Sanctuaries.'

Thinking it over, Mitsuna concluded.

'And that should be it.'

She turned her attention back to the finished magic circle and her open Status page.

'Now.'

'I'd say the Skills I need to learn more about are: [Dissolve] [Absolute Memorization] [Grand Appraisal] [Magic Circle Customization] [Dark Ice Seal] [Dome of Hell] [Sever] [Cut] [Paste] [World of Silver and Obsidian] [Reverse] [Form Change] [Grand Lunar Physique] [Branded] [Ancient Dragonic Speech] [Passive Blight] [Nature Born] [State of Fallen] [Crystallized] [Sylph] [Undine] [Golden Consumption] [Kitsune] [Silksong] [Evolution] [Holy State] [Nature Soulfire] [Personification of Jade] [Hydra Health] [Chromatic Poison] and [Grand Soul Perception].'

'I doubt I'm strong enough to fully handle [Technomancy] and [Determination] is a passive Skill that I already know about and [Seduction] is scary to use on minotaurs so I'll leave them for now. I'll also deal with my Techniques later on.'

Looking at the list, Mitsuna pondered.

'About half or so of these Skills are bloodline related and also passive. I don't know all there is to them even though basically all of it is written out. For some reason I think I can make them more... what's the word again?... efficient? Yeah. That's the one.'

And so, Mitsuna turned off all the passive skills she could.

'Right. Let's start with this.'

She looked at the magic circle flying over her hand.

Inserting mana and activating it, she waited for the effect.

A small vibration travelled through the earth as it was almost impossible to detect if you were wearing any socks or shoes.

'Okay. The place is mapped out.'

Sending the map into her head, she tried to memorize it fully with one glance.

'Might as well test my memory.'

Standing up, she looked at her level.

'78. I guess I should try a bit more than usual.'

She thought as she furrowed her brows, picked a skill to try out and activated it.

'[Silksong].'

She manipulated the thread as it weaved around her while she walked down the stairs.

'The description reads that the Skill can take any property that I can apply. Then what about colour?'

Mitsuna created a long string of threads.

Observing the walls of the Dungeon, she took the colour and tried applying it to the skill.

All that it did was gain some wall coloured spots.

"Hmph."

Mitsuna huffed.

'Guess I'll have to train with it for a while to get a better grasp of it.'

Cutting off the thread from her fingers, she tried to control it as it gently floated towards the ground.

'It's my Skill so it should respond to my mana and intentions...'

She pointed her hand at it and focused.

The tip of the thread floated above the ground while the rest of it laid there on the rocky earth.

'Well. It's something.'

She thought as she waved her hand while still focusing on the thread.

All it did was slightly rise before it all fell down.

"*Sigh*."

Leaving the thread there, she didn't focus on it but intended for it to move towards the wall opposite of her.

Interestingly enough, the thread moved but the moment Mitsuna focused on it, it stopped.

'Huh. I gained this Skill from a monster's bloodline. At least, I think it's classified as a monster. And monsters mostly use their abilities and Skills on instinct like animals, don't they?'

So, to test this, Mitsuna let loose.

Heavily breathing out, Mitsuna loosened her body, staring forward as if she was searching for prey.

'Don't focus. For a monster's Skill, I need to use a monster's methods.'

She looked at the wall in front of her.

She stepped forward while haphazardly thinking.

'The wall is in the way. Remove it.'

All the thread around her untangled itself and moved at astonishing speeds.

Taking the shape of a grid, it scratched at the wall, which then fell into cleanly cut rubble and stone.

'Wow. That actually worked and on the first try even.'

Mitsuna looked at the thread in surprise only to see it lifelessly fall to the ground.

'Hmm. So if it is not directly connected to me through a weapon or body part, it is difficult to control since I need to use my hunting instincts. Alright. Let's run through the Dungeon once until I completely understand the Skill.'

She stepped through the shattered wall.

Multiple minotaurs stood there, ready to do battle.

'Great. Now since that test is done, let's move on to properties and start with stickiness.'

She thought as thread appeared from the tips of her fingers and she began her 'training'.
