Today is just a new day of struggle for them. Audrey is asleep while Elvis is mixing this and that to make breakfast for them, just like the day before. All he wants is peace between them as their plan won't work unless they are at peace with each other. Even though that's exactly what Audrey wants, she doesn't know how they could possibly be at peace when they both have different plans in their heads that the other doesn't agree with.
"Audrey, wake up," Elvis shakes Audrey, in an attempt to wake her up,
Audrey leaps off the bed, "Huh?!" she replies, rubbing her eyes,
"Woah, relax no one is here," Elvis chuckles, "Breakfast is ready," he throws the towel on the counter and brings the tray of food over to the table,
"Oh," Audrey falls back on the bed.
She's been on alert all night, in fear of the policemen finding them again the next morning.
Audrey gets off the bed, quietly murmuring, "I'm just gonna take a quick shower,". She heads off to the shower with her towel in hand, tripping on her way as she isn't fully awake yet.
15 minutes later, she comes out of the shower with slightly wet hair and a new pair of PJs. The smell of the food Elvis prepared pulls her to the dining room, making her too hungry to mind her wet hair.
"Hey, you finished quickly," Elvis comments,
Audrey smiles, "Yeah,"
They sit down finally to have breakfast. Elvis prepared pancakes and eggs with a side of bacon. Just a perfect breakfast for Audrey.
"It's really good. Didn't know you were so good at cooking," Audrey teases after one bite,
Elvis shrugs cockily, "I tend to be good at everything,"
Audrey rolls her eyes and continues digging into the most delicious meal she has had in the past around 10 days.
"So what's the plan for today?" Audrey asks after silently devouring half of her meal,
"Not sure yet. We can't risk going out. We don't know who's out there. They could still be looking for us,"
"Oh," Is all Audrey says before finishing up her meal.
She takes both of their plates and washes them up. She thought, since Elvis has been working since early in the morning, helping him a bit won't hurt.
Later that day, when Elvis gets irritated by sitting in that small motel room, he gets up and goes to where Audrey is in the bedroom.
"What do you think about going shopping?" he asks,
"Right now?"
"Yeah," Audrey stares unbelievably,
"Elvis we could get caught,"
Elvis quickly replies, "I'll wear my cap and you can wear my hoodie and put on the hood," Just as he says that, his phone rings, startling him.
He fishes in his pocket and pulls his phone out, checking the caller ID.
"Why is Lucas calling me?" he murmurs and picks it up, putting it on his ear before asking, "What's up, Luke? Why are you calling?"
"Hey, man, where the hell are you?" Lucas replies on the other side,
"I already told you, didn't I?"
"No, I mean how the hell haven't the police caught you yet?"
Elvis freezes, worrying Audrey, "Who? what?" Audrey mouths to Elvis,
Elvis puts the phone on speaker and continues speaking, "Are you- Lucas are you the one that revealed our location?"
Lucas hesitantly replies, "Y-yeah, but listen to me-"
"What were you thinking, you bastard? I told you how much this meant to us! Why would you do such a thing?!" Audrey rubs Elvis' hand, somehow trying to calm him down. No matter how much she tries though, it doesn't work as Elvis basically has smoke blowing out of his ears.
"Wait listen, let me explain please," Lucas begs on the other side,
"There's no explanation to this, Lucas! What? Are you going to say, 'I'm worried about your safety'?" Elvis says in a mimicking voice,
"I was threatened, alright! Your father threatened me. I don't know how he found me, but he did apparently and threatened to hurt me if I don't tell him where you are,"
Both sides go silent. Elvis doesn't know what to say. Even as much as he knows about his father's cruelty, he would've never expected such a thing from him.
"Shit, I'm so sorry, man. I just didn't know and I was pissed when I just heard that you snitched on us. I didn't expect that,"
"Hey, it's alright. You guys stay safe. I'm glad they haven't found you, yet but I advise you guys to move a little further from where you are right now. They might find you any time soon," Lucas warns, oblivious to their situation,
"Oh, no they found us yesterday morning,"
"Then, how did they let you go?"
And Elvis tells Lucas about the day before and how they almost got caught, but escaped and to their luck the police haven't been able to find them yet.
"Damn, man. That's awesome. Also I overheard your parents are trying to track your phone so turn off all your tracking system," Lucas reminds them before saying their goodbyes and hanging up.
They canceled their plans of going out as they reconsidered Lucas' warning. The day passes by with boredom and doing nothing but sitting and staring at the tv.
