When Marylyn saw the press conference, she felt both hurt and proud of her daughter. She knew her daughter had changed for the better, but seeing her publicly admitting her mistakes made her realize that her daughter had truly matured and was now a different person.
At the same time, she was hurt by the thought of the perpetrator, who was doing all of this just to get her baby in trouble. Who would want to do such a thing?
This question could be easily answered by sending a few people on the errand, but Marylyn knew after talking with Arianna and her other children that her youngest child preferred to solve her problems on her own.
They had lavished a lot of attention on this child, and they all wanted to see her grow up. It was wonderful to see her solve her own problems and gradually stop being the spoiled little brat they had raised.
