Chapter 4 - Three

Screaming.

Cyra heard screams, but couldn't say where they were coming from, she could hear them everywhere, all around her. She hadn't realized that tears were running down her face and that the screams were coming from her.

When she realized she was awake she quickly sat in her bed and pressed her back to the headboard, closing her eyes tightly, trying to forget, trying to erase every bit of her dream. But she couldn't, she couldn't because it wasn't just a dream, it was a memory. A memory that she kept relieving, every time she fell asleep. The only nights she wouldn't have her memories taunting her while sleeping was when she was either completely drunk or when she took more of her sleeping pills than the doctors recommend. And since she felt the effects that this could have on her dance, she stopped and just endured the nightmares. She never liked drinking because she felt guilty about it, and drugs were something that she just never tried and never would, she needed her body way too much to just waste it with drugs.

Some doctors called her dreams 'night terrors', but she didn't care, she just wanted them to stop, but they never did.

This happened at 3 am, and once she saw the time she knew she couldn't get up yet, so she just laid in bed and cried, trying to clear her mind from the images that made her feel like a ticking bomb, waiting for an explosion.

She kept silently crying before she calmed herself and just tried to think of anything else besides the memory. She thought about the clothes she was going to wear that day, she remembered Sarah and the conversations they had the day before, and she thought about Thomas, the boy she just met, and couldn't stand.

And the time passed.

Again, she checked the time on her phone that was charging on her nightstand and confirmed that was almost time for her to get up, at 6.35 am.

She was never able to sleep after these dreams, she was too scared, scared that if she went back to the darkness she would be drowned by it. For good.

So she got out of bed and went to her bathroom to do her business. Then she dressed her favorite pair of black dance shorts, which were like every other pair she owned, really short, showing a little bit of her firm ass, and a black sports bra with some flowers in lilac, also one of her favorites. After this she brushed her hair and brushed her teeth, heading downstairs after that.

She was thankful her mother had asked for her room to be completely soundproof, as well as the studio. Like this, she could scream without being heard, and dance through the night without troubling anyone or being troubled.

She went straight to the kitchen, to grab an apple and a glass of water, she went to the cabinet where her vitamins were and took the three pills out of the respective bottles. She didn't really like taking them, but since she didn't like eating, so it was something necessary.

After she swallowed the pills with the help of the water she went downstairs, to her soon to be her favorite place in the entire house, her safe place, her dance room, her studio.

As soon as she saw it she fell in love with it, with was simplistic, with a black floor and white walls, with a big mirror covering one of the sides of the room. It had speakers in all of the corners, wish she adored because that way she was able to drown herself in the intensity of the music, leaving her thoughts, worries, and fears on the other side of the door.

And as soon as she turned on the music, she knew she was home.

At 10 am, three hours after her training had started, Cyra remembered about her conversation with Sarah the night before and decided to check if she had any new messages.

"Hey Cy, we're going to the beach at 11, do you want me to pick you up?"

Cyra smiled at the nickname and responded

"Hey S, ok I'll be ready, if you could pick me up would be great."

She sent Sarah her address and ran upstairs to shower and get ready to meet new people.

Once she felt the hot water hit her skin her muscles relaxed and the slight pain she felt constantly being numbed for a few moments.

She quickly washed her hair with her favorite shampoo, wish smelled like coconut, sweet, but not too sweet. Ending the shower with a minute of cold water, to make her muscles relieve a little bit of the pressure they are under.

As soon as she got out of the shower she cleaned herself, going over to the sink and opening the drawer where all of the makeup was stored, and applying the usual concealer and waterproof mascara. Cyra decided not to wear eyeliner because going to the beach called for less makeup and more natural, so that's what she went for.

Returning to her room she quickly put on her favorite bikini of the year, a black and white bikini, that complemented her body perfectly and wasn't too promiscuous.

After finishing her look with black denim shorts and an oversized t-shirt, she made her way downstairs to make sure she didn't take long to get to the car when Sarah arrives.

As if on cue her phone rings and Sarah's name appears on the screen.

"Hey girl" Sarah said as soon as Cyra answered the call.

"Hey."

"My boyfriend and I are outside of the gate, do you want us to get in?"

"Yes please" Cyra responded with a chuckle since she would have to walk a lot to get to the front gate.

Once she heard the car pull up at her front door she grabbed her beach bag with her essentials (towel, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, phone, keys, and some makeup), and made her way to the door.

She gave a quick hug to Sarah who was waiting for her outside of the passenger seat and then got in the back.

Once in the car, she looked at Sarah's boyfriend. He was tanned and both eyes and his hair were dark brown. She could tell he was tall and muscular. Overall a good-looking guy.

"Hello, I'm Cyra." She introduced herself with a small smile.

"Hey, I'm Cameron." He replied with a smile of his own. He looked nice, she could tell he was easy to get along with from the relaxed way he positioned himself while driving out of her propriety.

"Let's have some fuuun!" Sarah yelled at the sky that was visible because the car was a convertible.

"Yes let's have some fun..." Cyra thought with a smile.
