I reached the top of a hill and collapsed under a tall oak tree, breathless. I looked out onto the horizon and burst into tears. How could I have been so stupid? they'll never trust me again. Oh, poor Lucy she looked so afraid. The witch was right. I'm far too dangerous. I should just hand myself over and everyone will be safe. "Is this seat taken?" A voice I recognised broke me from my thoughts. I looked up to see Peter standing by the tree. "no," I sniff, wiping my face with my hands "unless you want to get turned into some kind of plant" Peter laughed and sat next to me "you're really fast, you know that?" he said, slightly breathless I laughed tears still running down my face. he leant his head back, resting it against the tree. "I'll try and go slower next time" "good" he looked over at me "It'll be easier to rescue you" I scoffed "rescue me? you barely know how to use a sword" He sat up. "what!? have you seen me in training?" I look to him "you're improving, let's put it at that" We sat in silence for a while, taking in the view of cair paravel's towers. "what's it like?" "what- cair paravel?" " have you seen it?" I looked into the clouds in thought "once. I was very little. " "with your parents?" Peter spoke softly, almost like he wasn't trying to wake any bad memories. I nodded quietly. "my father would've loved you." I smile at the memory of him "he always wanted a son. that's why I'm such a good swordswoman." Peter smiled, glad I wasn't sad. "Susan reminds me of my mother. she was so smart, she always knew the answer to my questions." Peter gently put his arm around me, and I leant on his shoulder. "I wish we could've met them" I looked into Peter's blue eyes, and our faces got closer and closer until... "Peter! Y/N! Aslan and the witch have a made a decision" Lucy was stood at the base of the hill. I stood up, brushing down my skirt. I looked to Peter "come on, she's waiting." I held out my hand and he took it. Hand in hand, we made our way back down the hill to the others.
"Hey guys, I-" I was suddenly crushed by Susan "I'm so glad you're okay, I was so worried" I breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "told you they'd forgive you." Peter squeezed my hand. There was a ripple of movement. "They're coming back" I turned to the tent and saw Aslan and the witch walk out.
"She has renounced her claim on the Son of Adams blood," Aslan said. Everyone cheered. "How do I know your promises will be kept?" She asked us. In return, Aslan roared making her fall back in her throne. Everyone went back to cheering after as the witch left. I smiled, as happiness warmed my heart again. I looked at Aslan, and my smile faded. His face was sad and sunken. Something was wrong, I could see it in his eyes. "You okay?" Peter was at my side his hand on my shoulder. I touched it and sighed "yeah, I'm fine, just tired" he nodded "alright, get some rest." I made my way to my tent and looked back at Aslan. What's he hiding?
