"If he tells us to hurry up one more time, I'll turn him into a big fluffy hat" Peter hauled Lucy on his back as they laughed "you wouldn't be the only one" I replied with a small smile. he smiled back, and we looked at each other for a minute before Beaver called again. " hurry!" "he is getting a little bossy" Lucy commented. I turned back and my face fell "no it's her, run!" Susan and Peter exchanged fearful looks and Lucy jumped off Peter's back and took hold of my hand. Peter grabbed the other and we ran for our lives across the plain of snow. We reached a small hole in a bank where the beavers ushered us inside. Lucy buried her face in my chest, and I placed a comforting hand on her head while I looked to Peter and Susan in silent fear. We waited for what seemed like hours. "maybe she's gone?" Lucy whispered lifting her head. "I'll go check," I say letting go of Lucy "no" Peter grabbed my wrist. I felt my cheeks warm at this action " they need you I'll go." "be careful Beaver" Beaver carefully made his way out into the open we waited again, Lucy clutching my arm. I looked at Peter and gave him a hopeful look. He was still holding onto my wrist, and I placed my hand on his. Beaver suddenly appeared making us all jump. "I hope you've all be good cuz there's someone here to see ya!" Susan, Peter and I gave each other confused looks and followed Lucy and the beavers out of the bank. I broke into a smile when I saw who it was "Father Christmas!" Lucy cried " Merry Christmas sir" "it certainly is Y/N" "we thought you were the witch," Peter said, releasing his grip on my wrist, "yes well, I've been riding one of these a lot longer than the witch has" the large man replied, " but I thought there was no Christmas in Narnia?" Susan said, clearly confused "yes, that was true, but thanks to you, Narnia has hope and the witches power is beginning to weaken, winter is almost over!" I grinned " now I think you'd better have these" He placed a large sack on the snow-covered ground. "presents!" Lucy said in delight running forward. Among the toys and gifts, Father Christmas pulled a glass vial
" the juice of the fire flower can cure any injury" she took it gratefully, admiring the amber liquid inside " and I hope you never have to use this," he handed her a small dagger," battles are ugly affairs" she carefully took it " thank you, I think I can be brave enough" "I'm sure you will" I reply, rubbing her shoulder and smiling. Next, he pulls out the most wonderful bow and arrow quiver I've ever seen. "Susan. trust in this bow, and it will never miss." "What happened to battles are ugly affairs?" I laughed. " you certainly don't need help making yourself heard," He handed her a horn, " blow on the horn, and wherever you are, help will come."
"thank you" "Peter, Y/N" we both stepped forward. First, he handed Peter a sword and shield " there will be times when you will need to use this, Peter" He unsheathed the sword and it glinted in the winter sun. " thank you sir" I nudged him with my arm and smiled, he returned the smile but only before looking away quickly then sheathing the blade. "and finally, Y/N" he handed me a small wooden box "Aslan asked me to give this to you" I gingerly opened the box, my eyes widened. There, lay the most beautiful wand I've ever seen. It was golden with vines and flowers carved into the handle and a golden orange crystal set at the top. I took it in my hand and felt a warm feeling rush through me ." thank you," I breathed, "it's beautiful" "it is Y/N" Lucy stood on her tiptoes to see it. "do something!" her eyes flashed with excitement "really?" I turned to face the large man he smiled and nodded "go on" I smiled and clicked the wand at Peter's shield. The lion painted on the metal reared it's head and roared. Lucy's eyes widened in amazement as Peter lifted his shield and laughed. I grinned at him, and we both blushed and I looked to Lucy who was still staring at the shield in wonder. "okay, that's amazing" Susan smiled at me as the lion returned to what it was. I shrugged "I try". " now that you're all well equipped, I must go. things do tend to pile up when you've been gone 100 years!" He got back on his sleigh and sped off as we shouted our goodbyes. "told you he was real" Lucy triumphantly smiled at her sister. I chuckled. "he said winter was almost over" Peter spoke slowly as if trying to work something out. I too began to realise "so that means..." panicked, I looked to Peter "no more ice!"
