Later That Night
Beatrice waited in her bed chambers for any news from either B or Clancy. She hadn't seen either one since earlier that day and now that her nerves were somewhat calmed down, she realized how harsh she had been with Clancy and how little time she and B spent together. She hadn't realized how much she wanted him until she was in his arms. She had let the other maids assist her in getting ready for tonight.
She chose a sheer black nightgown with a matching sheer black robe with an inlaid gold brocade as its collar. She still wore her necklace and her ring. This ensemble was different from the ones she had been wearing to bed. Of course, the maids said nothing when she had declared that was what she was wearing to bed, but Beatrice was sure the maids were gossiping about her and William. Let them, she thought.
