5 YEARS LATER...
'Screw being the best mother. She is a demon!'
Olivia thought as she ran around the house screaming for her daughter to put some clothes on
"you know I can hear your thoughts, mother," Hazel said as she summer-saulted over the chair and ran outside while laughing evilly.
Parenting wasn't a simple thing, Olivia clearly knew that. Hazel was just five, but she made Olivia feel that handling 5 normal kids will be a lot easier.
Hazel was the definition of sweet, but psycho. She was a cunning fox and could easily manipulate people. She'd threaten you then smile. A weird one indeed. But she had outstanding qualities like her communication skills, quick thinking, being a good listener, and she was exceptionally smart.
She was always there for her mum, helping in her own ways. She was there when her mum got dumped by her boyfriend, Mark, whom she went after and scarred for life. She was also there when Olivia's ex-boss maltreated her badly... also going after him and leaving him deeply scarred.
Frankly, Olivia couldn't wish to have a more understanding, caring, and excellent daughter, but in times like this, she felt like strangling the devil herself. The devil being Hazel.
"Hazel, my sweet little nut, come wear some clothes now or you will catch a cold"
Olivia cooed as she approached Hazel, who was twirling a puddle of water with one finger
'yeah, my child is definitely not normal, well nothing unusual anyway' she thought. Hazel wasn't a normal child, after all.
"Mother, why can't I stay home and wait for your return," Hazel said while pouting childishly
"NO! absolutely not," Olivia said without batting an eyelash
"and it's not like we're coming back anyway," she later added.
Hazel was speechless
'We weren't coming back?!'
"don't worry, we will come to see Grandma and grandpa during the holidays," Olivia said as if knowing what her child was thinking
Hazel let out a breath and looked at her mum as her eyes brightened up
"no, we are not teleporting"
"b-but-"
"no buts, missy now put on these clothes, the airplane will leave soon," Olivia said as she threw a fluffy purple gown at her

Olivia looked at her daughter, who didn't respond but had a sad expression on her beautiful face. Her soft, long pink hair was packed loosely into a ponytail while some stubborn strands framed her face magnificently, her pink lips were slightly pouted and her beautiful shining purple eyes with specks of gold in them were looking dull.
'now I feel like a monster
Olivia sighed.
Her daughter was giving her the silent treatment, and she had tried her best to cheer up by putting hair clips on her hair and giving her a huge lollipop.
But Hazel had simply removed the decor from her hair and left the sweet untouched till 10 minutes later when she took it and what broke Olivia's heart was her daughter had simply said 'thank you ma' when she gave her the lollipop
not even mother but MA!
She couldn't hold it against her, though. Hazel was being whisked into a whole new world because of her.
After Olivia got pregnant, she couldn't attend school and had to attend online classes instead. Luckily, her parents got her a new apartment where she could stay. They also accepted Hazel and treated her like the princess she was.
Olivia did well and graduated. She got fired from her first job because she turned down his proposal- the man was a worthless female dog- and Hazel was livid when she heard, so she couldn't even possibly go back no matter the situation.
Now, she had finally got a good-paying job... 100 kilometres from their current location, so Olivia felt guilty if only-
"It's not your fault, mother"
Olivia looked up to see Hazel looking at her right in the eyes in the rearview mirror.
"don't blame yourself for everything mother, you will die early and besides, I still do not know to tie my shoes myself yet"
Olivia burst out into a fit of giggles and rested her head on the steering to catch her breath while Hazel smiled genuinely back at her that brought her two cute dimples.
Olivia turned to pinch Hazel's soft and chubby cheeks while cooing in the most baby voice
"aww, my little nut still needs me"
Hazel frowned and gently removed her mother's hands from her cheeks while pretending to be irritated.
'My daughter is back'
"we're going to be ok," Olivia said in a determined voice and Hazel nodded along with her.
"Yeah, we will"
Olivia gave a small smile before starting the car and was about to pull out of the driveway when her daughter called for her attention
"mother"
"yes, my sweet little nut" Olivia made eye contact with her in the rearview mirror.
"anything wrong?"
"well u-Um... we missed the plane," Hazel said while handing her beautiful moon wristwatch with stars to her mum
They had indeed missed their flight but lucky enough, there was the afternoon one by 2:00 pm so it was all good
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE OF THE DAY: it takes more muscle to frown than it is to smile so don't be too hard on your cheek muscles, ok? 😜
