"Well, hello." Her playful voice was calming and soothing to the ear. If not for her desire to rip me apart, I would have been fooled by her innocence. Probably not, but still. I watched her walk seductively closer towards me. She looked extremely pale with a beautiful face and an hourglass figure. Her white hair flowed down like a waterfall, reaching the ground behind her. What was interesting was she had her left eye closed. It looked more like it had been sown shut. She did not have a left arm either. To top it all off, her pale white body was bare without any form of covering, showing off her large bosom with confidence. I had to admit, I was impressed.
"Hello." I walked closer to get a better look at the situation. At the front of the fallen queue, there were a few torn limbs and dead bodies. 'About five dead out of a few sixty or seventy. I'd say not too bad.' I looked to the young demon that was looking at me like I was a delicacy and responded to her greeting. It would be rude not to, even if we were about to fight. I was so well brought up. I felt proud of myself.
"It has been a while that I had any Platinum person." She smiled with a friendly smile while trying to mask her killing and battle intent. I rolled my eyes at her. That was quite unneeded since it was evident we were both aiming to kill each other. As she was speaking I started taking of my clothes as well.
"What are you doing?" I had already stripped down to my boxers when she asked with a confused yet amused expression. It was evident that her charm had not affected me, so she was quite confused. There was no way I was dumbly trying to strip and have my way with her.
"You're not the only one with a rocking body." I let her know as I made a few poses to show of my SEXXY bod. How is it? I was right. I won. She couldn't take her eyes of me. Her mouth was wide open in admiration. "No matter how much you look, you can't have."
"HAHAHA! What an interesting little human." Little? I'd have you know I am quite sizable. "It'd be a shame to kill you. Come join me. With your strength, I could easily make you my right hand." Don't you mean your left hand? I whispered to myself, sniggering at my awesome joke. Unfortunately, not like I care, she heard me. I saw her face contort in rage. Her eyes became cold, no longer bothering to hide the killing intent.
"Oh? Are we finally going to stop fooling around?" I smirked at her. I was expecting her to charge at me in her anger, but it looked like she was more the calm angry type. That was good. It would have been boring if she was not.
"I gave you a chance to live." She was no longer frowning in rage, but the killing intent was still clearly visible. I rolled my eyes at her. She was still talking even after making our intentions clear. I understood she wanted to get my guard down to attack me, but it was getting ridiculous. It was something that would never happen. My old man used to attack me out of the blue with the excuse of training my instincts when I was younger. Of course, if he truly wanted to, someone at his level, I would long since died. He only did so to the point where those who were at least not at his level would not be able to sneak up on me. Ah, the beautiful painful days.
Just as I suspected. While I was in deep thoughts remembering my duck-duck-punch days with my old man, she arrived in front of me in blurring speeds. What was duck-duck punch you ask? Simple. Stay alert enough to duck a punch, or a kick, or even a sneaky headbutt. *Sigh* Unpleasant memories. Shoo!
She was fast. Faster than Brand. 'Looks like I need to raise the power cap again.' I barely leaned my head to the left, dodging the right arm that was filled with power. I jumped back to make room between us, but she impressively stuck close to me.
I used my left to parry the next blow that was coming towards my face. The punch packed a lot of power. You would think someone who had only one hand would be at a disadvantage, but no. It was almost as terrifying as the guild master Brand's. It made me wonder how powerful she would actually be if she had her other arm. Not only was she faster than Brand, but she was also stronger than Brand who was a pure fighter. I guess it is one of those cheats for the dark side, if we were even supposed to call them that, thing.
A simple counter punch with my right to her face but she parried beautifully with her elbow and sent her own counter, a spinning kick to my head. It was a beautiful back and forth between us. Punch, parry, counter. However, the more we fought, the weirder I felt. Sometimes she was like a brute, punching hard enough to destroy anything in her way without any form. Sometimes she was graceful, parrying and counter attacking at tricky angles, whiles throwing in feints here and there. She was a very annoying person to fight. Anyone else aside from me would have had a terrible time, especially if she had both arms. What was even more impressive was the proficiency at which she was doing all of it with one arm deficit? Am I allowed to use that word? Whatever.
Just as another punch was flying towards my face, my duck-duck-punch instincts kicked in. She extended her finger like a gun in a flash. [Air Bullet]. A finger sized transparent drill shot at me. Since her hand was already in my face the [Air Bullet] arrived instantaneously. With a loud bang, I was thrown a few meters back.
"Such a shame to have had to kill you. It was entertaining, but I can't have someone as talented as you stand against me." So that's why it felt off. I had to admit, she was amazing. Her strength and power aside, that level of casting was terrifying. From the control of the mana to the control of the spell itself, I couldn't help but be impressed. Usually when someone casts a spell like that, there was a reaction in the surrounding mana. That was because they had to not only agitate the mana within themselves, but the mana in the surroundings as well. Usually, low levels would be unable to detect it, but high enough and experienced adventurers could. Hers however, I could barely feel the agitation in the surroundings.
She walked slowly towards me with a victorious smile on her face. Unfortunately, this was not a world with game elements where you level up with the experience gained from your kills. If so then how did adventurers level up? Through practice, training, and breakthroughs. For demons, they leveled up the same way, but they had shortcuts. They ate flesh and core of other beasts. Or in the case of humans, flesh, and heart. Meaning she was fully intending on eating me.
