Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

The Russian man stepped up and grabbed a pocket knife from his back pocket. "One body part is 1000 dollars." he said with a  menacing grin. With his other hand, he rubbed his thumb and index finger against each other.

Castiel scooted closer to Killan with little knee movements, he could feel it being scraped by the rough uneven floor through his long pants. His face was overflowing with sweat and water vapour that was escaping from the platform above him. Those loud rumbling chains and bubbles cackling. What exactly was it..?

"Mr Killan, your leader whom you swore your undying royalty for, who exactly is he?" Ivankov asked with a mouth filled with spit and a heavy scent of strong alcohol. He asked without any script or lead from the others whatsoever. It seemed like this encounter was planned.

Revolting barbarians. This was why he despised them so much. Murderers. Brutal, heinous and inhumane. Killan felt his hands forming into a fist as he raised his head. "You remind me of a guard dog." he insulted with a mocking tone, his upper body leaning closer as his lips formed a smile. " A filthy one." he whispered.

The floor right next to them cracked, dust and debris exploded along with a rush of water. A fist lifted itself up from the cracked concrete floor. It left a blood stain while more dripped down from the fist that was trembling in anger. "I'll kill you." he threatened, a menacing aura emanating from Ivankov.

Meanwhile, Xavier slowly leaned back as he moved his tied hands closer to the back of his shoe, which revealed a small tiny blade that was barely visible. Luckily for him, he was positioned right in the middle of all the chaos, with his members positioned around him. The cold steam was also covering him up. He just needed a few more minutes- no, seconds was enough.

From the corner of one's eye, they spotted the suspicious hasty movements of Xavier. Adan quickly stepped forward and as he neared closer, he heard something drop. The block of metal sounded it's last breath before bursting into a cloud of white dense smoke.

The guards standing at the sides of the wall quickly ran to the centre where the commotion was. They couldn't see their enemies anymore, a white smoke veiled the entire centre of the room.

Xavier did it with the small blade hidden in the back of his shoe. He yanked it out and quickly searched for where his members were while they were surrounded by the smoke. He stumbled across someone with bright flashy red-hair and immediately identified who it was. He repeatedly attacked the rope with the blade until it finally was on it's last string and snapped.

"Get Killan, prioritize him." Ethan whispered, looking straight forward, as if concentrated on something.

Xavier nodded even though he couldn't be seen, he was far too lazy to reply with words. With every step, he was cautious. He had no idea how long he had left until the smoke cleared. He wasn't sure what would be his next course of action. Then he saw a shiny piece of jewelry sparkling in the midst of the smoke. He recognised it, he rushed in front and quickly tried to find the person's rope. "It's me Xavier. Your rope." he said.

Killan reluctantly turned around and lifted his hand for Xavier to cut. He knew the Russian man was still somewhere nearby, he could hear the loud clacking footsteps of that person. It was disturbing, he felt like his throat could get slit at any moment now. Once his hands were free, Xavier disappeared into the background. He quickly reached onto his ponytail and reached for his hair clip. He clicked on the jeweled button. That was the instruction given to him by Draven.

In a second. Killan heard indistinguishable heavy breathing sounds in his audio set and a few clicks with silence in between, then it stopped. He cursed and stood up and stepped back. He wasn't sure what to do now. He was left empty-handed. Weapons confiscated, planless and his last resort seem to be malfunctioning.

Unfortunately, the smoke cleared up and the mutates stood in a formation where their backs were against each other. They were like prey being cornered. It was pitiful.

The fat man on the chair was now standing and looking at his guards with a look of disappointment. He then gestured to his servant for something on the desk. A mic? For what reason? "Release them." he ordered as he glared at Killan.

Quinn and Adan in the back quickly left through the back door, everyone seemed to be fine with their absence. Like it was expected.

Metals started clanging loudly, their sounds amplifying within every millisecond. The bubbling sound got more intense. The platform above them was shaking like there was an earthquake. Gradually, a soft whistle sounded. It slowly turned into a high pitched scream of terror that made team Alpha shiver. In an instant, their ears collected the sound and it struck them like a bullet. It was piercing and terrorizing.

They fell to the ground while they desperately blocked out the sound with their hands pressed on the sides of their heads. It felt like torture, their heads felt like it was going to be split apart any moment now. Like a nail was being forcibly stabbed into their head by a hammer. However, with a glance, everyone besides them looked absolutely fine. Standing in their place with a cold front.

What the hell was happening? Ethan bit his lips and tasted the iron in his mouth. Blood. He bashed his head into the ground to distract himself from the other pain. Anything would do, just get rid of the noise! "You fat old hideous bastard. I'll kill you even if I die." he insulted with his eyes open wide in a minacious manner.

The man in front was definitely ticked off by the young man's bold words, he flinched and furrowed his bushy eyebrows. He looked at the leftover servant and smiled terrifyingly. "I shall teach you a meaningful life lesson my child." he said, his voice blasting out of the speakers.

"Kill him, Atlas." the man ordered, pointing at Ethan.

The person supposedly named Atlas stayed still and tilted his head, cracking it and relieving himself from the tension. Then, blood dripped from the sides of his face. From his ears. He raised his hands and removed his mask. He moved slowly, calm and undisturbed.

The man at his seat gasped as he backed into his throne. That wasn't how his trustworthy assistant, Atlas, looked like. In his place was now a young teenage boy. The guards also realized this and pointed their weapons at the kid and shot without a moment's thought.

The boy walked in front slowly and all the bullets seemed to miss him. They had missed somehow. His movements were swift and quiet, like a ghost. He grabbed the mic of the man and bashed it into the man's mouth, breaking his perfect set of gold teeth. He pushed the mic deep in as he watched the man struggle for air with his airway blocked.

"What a bunch of lousy people." the person stated, his voice escaping into the air and overpowering the siren sound.
