The sound of the woman tripping distracted him once again. Without thinking twice, he put down the book and rushed to her.
"Are you alright?" the Commander asked the slave as he crouched down in front of her.
He got a glimpse of her face for the first time but... the lifelessness completely overshadowed her beauty. Her dull eyes and pale face didn't even resemble a living person. However, the sight was just momentary as the woman quickly turned away without saying anything.
Nicklaus Elan's looked down at her wounded leg. Though the bandage was still there, the dressing was a mess and some part of her wound was exposed too. Even he, a tough Commander, thought that the wound was too deep and severe to bear for a woman as weak as her.
