It was almost midnight but Nicklaus Elan couldn't sleep at all. Once in a while, he would glance at Lillian who was sleeping at the other end of the bed.
Was she already asleep?
It seemed like it as the Princess closed her eyes and didn't move at all.
Staring at her, Nicklaus Elan recalled what she said to him a few hours ago.
She loved him and she said that herself. This made the Commander's lips curve into a smile. He has her heart and that was more than enough for him.
When Nicklaus Elan quietly stared at his wife who was peacefully sleeping, the night he first met her crossed his mind - that deep wound she obtained on her leg.
He wondered just how much she suffered since she faked her death.
Just what things did she go through?
These thoughts made his smile slip.
He will have to work so hard if he wanted her to forget everything and move on.
