Chapter 8 - EPISODE 8: THE SAME CAN BE DIFFERENT?

EPISODE 8: THE SAME CAN BE DIFFERENT?

(Yūto has reached the mountain, looks up and says)

OUTDOORS, ON THE MOUNTAIN-NIGHT

YŪTO

It's high, but I'll make it for those who need my help. I'll manage.

(So he grasps a stone and with his other hand he grasps a stone a little higher than the original one. In this way he begins to climb the mountain. Yūto ponders from within with a smile on his lips)

YŪTO

It won't be hard, I'll manage.

(Then he looks up again.)

YŪTO

I want to see the view from up there, I imagine it will be unforgettable. (As the mountain climbs, somewhere in the Middle people are heard talking)

SPIRIT OF WOMAN

Don't go any higher. It's a very dangerous road from now on, please get off while it's early.

SPIRIT OF MAN

Get out while you can, kid, ' cause if you go up a little longer, there's no going back.

(Yūto stands for a while and looks right-left anxious)

YŪTO

What is that I hear? Who's there?

SPIRIT OF WOMAN

Please go, young man. you're too young to die.

SPIRIT OF MAN

Don't listen to those idiots, kid. Make your dreams come true. Fight fast!

YŪTO

I don't see anything. I guess it's my idea.

(Continuing to ascend the mountain, the words of some man, or rather of many people, are heard more and more clearly)

SPIRIT OF MAN

You're not gonna make it, because you're trying too hard?

(Yūto looks right to left, into the rocks and crevices of the mountain but there is none. Cry out)

YŪTO

Who is it?! Is anyone there?! Show yourself! Accursed.

(With these words he leaves one of his two hands from the stone and opens his Palm, taking out the purple fire from there so that he can see, and with the other hand he holds the stone so that it does not fall into the void. Then another voice says)

SPIRIT OF WOMAN

You're useless.

(Yūto says from within)

YŪTO

Tsk, what are those voices I hear? There are no people up here, so what are they?

(Continuing to ascend the mountain yūto, another voice answers)

SPIRIT OF MAN

You didn't save your sister, why? What grief.

(Yūto starts sweating and getting tired as never before)

YŪTO

Where am I? What kind of weird place is this? Accursed.

(Another voice makes him worse psychologically)

SPIRIT OF WOMAN

You didn't keep your word. Pathetic man die, this is your punishment! This is your fate, you pathetic worm!

(Yūto's face slowly fills with tears)

SPIRIT OF MAN

You're nothing. You should have died with them if you really loved them. But ... but you ran away like a thief, you should be ashamed to exist.

(So another man's voice concludes)

SPIRIT OF MAN

But you didn't Die And Now, Now what's your goal?

SPIRIT OF WOMAN

Souls don't come back, no matter how many demons you kill.

SPIRIT OF WOMAN

What are you looking for to come all the way here?

(Yūto stops climbing to rest)

YŪTO

What do you want from me? Why are you making my journey harder than it is?! Damn it! LET ME GO ON! I WANT TO KEEP GOING, DON'T STOP ME!

(A woman laughs while telling a soul while a man)

SPIRIT OF MAN

What you're looking for, you'll never find. Don't try for nothing.

SPIRIT OF WOMAN

How to find it after losing it lol.

(Yūto tired and sad cries)

YŪTO

SHUT UP, GET LOST, LEAVE ME ALONE

SPIRIT OF MAN

Hahahahahaha the truth hurts huh? You believe that if you climb this mountain you will be able to turn back time to save and protect. That's why I'm here, to tell you that you're not going to accomplish anything at all. Rest a moment you will fall and die since you are so weak.

YŪTO

LET ME GO! LEAVE ME ALONE! GO, GO, YOU DAMNED CREATURES!

(With bowed head climbs the mountain until another truth makes him bend)

SPIRIT OF WOMAN

You didn't save those who saved you, who do you think you are?

(Yūto goes to grab a stone a little higher with his left hand to climb up, the stone leaves its place and yūto is with his right hand held by the stone and the whole body together with his left hand hanging in the gap. Yūto looks down into the void, closes his eyes and ponders)

YŪTO

I am sorry, sorry, sorry.…

(He can't keep the emotions he carries and with voices and tears in his eyes he screams)

YŪTO

Sorry! Sorry! Aiko, mother sorry!

(He looks up again and sees a star falling from the sky, picks up a stone higher than the previous one and mutters)

YŪTO

I know what I've done wrong. I know I didn't keep my word. Know…

(And with tears in his eyes he cries and claps his hand on the mountain)

YŪTO

I KNOW WHO I AM AND I WILL KEEP TRYING FOR EVERYTHING I'VE LOST! I'LL TRY TO GET REVENGE UNTIL MY FAMILY'S SOULS ARE AT PEACE! MY STRENGTH IS MY WEAKNESS AND MY STREET IS FULL OF POTHOLES AND STONES, BUT I WILL GO ON, I WILL GO ON FIGHTING!

(With these words in yūto's mind come images. Aiko's smile, walking by the river and mother hugging them. Spirits are not heard except by spirits who encourage him. Yūto with all his forces tightly grasps the stones and climbs the mountain. In some places where he has no stones to catch he puts strength in his hands and jumps higher to catch the stones that are higher. When he reached the top of the mountain he looked at the sky which has a purple and blue color as shooting stars fill the sky. Yūto with a smile and with tears falls with knees to the ground)

OUTDOORS, AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN-NIGHT

YŪTO

I did it. I did it, mother, aiko. I did it, yeah hahahahahaha!

(but a demon answers)

FEMALE DEMON NAMED: HIBANA SHINOHARA

In fact. Looks like You Made It, hunter, if you're a hunter of course.

(She is a demon woman with white hair and small horns while the color of her iris is black and the (White of her eye) is white as she wears a beautiful red yukata. yūto in terror rises from the ground abruptly and opens straight the palm of his hand, out of which the purple fire breaks. The demon smiles and turning her back on yūto sits on the edge of the mountain)

HIBANA

I won't eat you, boy. Sit down with me and join me, if you will, of course, and be a little bold, hehe.

(Yūto closes the palm of his hand, then with his hand wipes the tears in his eyes and in a serious tone responds to hibana)

YŪTO

How do I know you won't kill me? You Demons don't have the best reputation. Usually you want to eat and kill, sow panic and terror. How can I trust you?

(Hibana looks up at the sky and answers with a smile)

HIBANA

I promise. I give you my word that I will not do to you those horrible things which you think and tyrannize your mind with thoughts.

(Then yūto slowly approaches hibana making the circle without hearing or seeing him. While moving to the demon he says at the same time)

YŪTO

Are you telling me to trust a demon? That's a good joke, but I want my life.

(Hibana is still looking at the sky saying)

HIBANA

All the stars look the same, but everything if observed is so different from each other. Don't you agree? Ara ara, forgive me for rudeness, brave warrior hehe, your name? May I know, please?

(Yūto after he has made the circle stops a few steps away from her)

YŪTO

My name is yūto, yūto Yamada.

(Hibana smiles while looking at yūto next to her)

HIBANA

What a beautiful name you have, nice to meet you, yūto.

(Yūto looks up and observes the stars with very close attention. His eyes "grow" he has never seen anything so beautiful. Meanwhile a little later the demon points with her finger some stars to yūto)

HIBANA

Look at that Star, yūto. They're blue while that one's purple, they're different from each other.

(But yūto is not convinced, so with irony he replies)

YŪTO

Yes, they are different from each other. Only in color, they do not cease to be All Stars.

(Hibana smiles sweetly with her eyes closed)

HIBANA

So prove it. See not the outward appearance, but the hidden treasure that we all hide in our hearts. That counts for nothing else, yeah?

(Yūto shyly takes the first step towards hibana, it is not long before he takes the second and approaches her still further. He's right next to her, he's not sitting with her though, he still has a worry)

HIBANA

Why did you climb Mount yūto? This is not where anyone and anyone come up, but those who have a clear conscience. You might have died.

(Yūto sits down and together with hibana looks at the stars)

YŪTO

I went up the mountain because something ... was pulling me to come. I don't know exactly what but…

(At the end of his sentence he bends his head down to the ground. Hibana looks at him and again tilts her head forward looking at the stars)

HIBANA

You have power in you, but I can see something's bothering you. Am I wrong hunter?

(Hibana grasps his hand. Directly all memories of the past are transferred to hibana. Her gaze changes to a look of horror and fear as images begin to fill her mind. Images: the death of his mother, the devastation of his village and the last words of his mother as well as the sweet smile of aiko. Hibana grasps her throat as if she were choking and falls backwards with her eyes closed. Yūto frightened and with concern cries)

YŪTO

Are you okay? You're okay, wake up, demon, wake up.

(Hibana recovers and gets up front again. Yūto exclaims with a look of relief in his eyes)

YŪTO

Thank God you're okay.

(Hibana embraces yuto)

HIBANA

How much you've been through.

YŪTO

That's enough, but I'm here for one purpose. To avenge what happened to my family and to fight for those who need my help.

(After some quiet time yūto asks hibana)

YŪTO

You?

(hibana looks at yūto)

HIBANA

What about me?

YŪTO

Why are you so different from other demons?

(Hibana looks at him in Wonder)

HIBANA

What do you mean by that?

YŪTO

If it had been another demon in your place it would not have been so friendly, but we would have fought till one of the two died hehe.

(And laughs with mock laughter)

YŪTO

And you're different. You don't fight, all you're trying to do is create an atmosphere of peace and trust between demons and humans.

(Hibana smiles saying)

HIBANA

My answer is very simple, yūto hehe. Because I chose it. I know I can't hurt a human being. Even when it hurts I restrain myself, but the main thing is that I do not want to take part in this war for revenge and domination. I don't want to be a part of something that happened a million years ago and continues to this day.

YŪTO

Why, what happened a million years ago?

(Hibana looks surprised at yūto)

HIBANA

Many years ago people lived together with demons in various villages. They worked with each other and people relied on demons, so did demons. Until a terrible war broke out between the two tribes. The reason was because of some demons who slaughtered and ate people from a village. The people hunted and killed many demons but among them innocent people who were not responsible for the event. Very Demons had brothers, families and children killed by the hands of people. So the Demons vowed to kill people until the souls of their families rested. And that's how the war between humans and demons came about. Hecheeee people cannot understand the great difference we have with these monsters who yearn to drink the blood and taste the flesh of men on their lips. But it's enough for them that we're demons, too, believing we want the same thing.

(After a while hibana asks him)

HIBANA

Anyway, let's put that aside and tell me the real reason you came to this mountain.

(Yūto closes his eyes for a moment, and opening them again answers)

YŪTO

I came to perfect. I came up here to calm down and think. I have to make a decision in my life and that's the hardest one.

HIBANA

So you're demon hunter?

(Yūto says with a smile)

YŪTO

Yeah, still at least hechee.

(Hibana looks at him with the corner of her eye and says ironically

HIBANA

Mmm, I see. So you have to kill me?

(Startled yūto shakes both his hands in the negative)

YŪTO

No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!

(Then he smiles and grasps her hand, saying:)

YŪTO

Besides, why would I kill someone who doesn't threaten anyone?

(Hibana blushes and changes subject straight away)

HIBANA

I've never met demi man before. This is the first time I've ever met one in person, hechee.

YŪTO

What do you Demons get excited about when you see demi Human?

HIBANA

Demi people are stronger and cuter than normal people. Then the Demons will hunt demi humans to steal their fire technique.

YŪTO

Why do they want our fire?

HIBANA

Fire is the strongest technique. No one can learn it except demi people. That's why the Demons want it so much, so that they can get stronger and make it a cinch for them to go after these people.

(After a while)

YŪTO

Why don't you stay in the woods and choose to climb the mountain?

(smiling the demon replies)

HIBANA

You know, I lost my family, too. You want to hear my story?

(Yūto shakes his head affirmatively saying with a smile)

YŪTO

Yeah, yeah, tell me.

(Hibana begins to tell the story while at the same time seeing images of the past)

HIBANA

It was a beautiful night.

(Picture: two little girls, one with black hair and the other with white playing in the streets of the city. Until the moon turns red, demons come out of the forest and eat any human they find, while humans at the same time run for their lives)

HIBANA

My sister and I ran back to the house, we walked in and we saw our family on the floor and blood flowing from them. Then we were approached by a demon wearing a black mask while at its side was a little white color. He told us.

(Hibana looks at the stars in the sky)

HIBANA

"You don't belong here, come with us where you really belong. "My sister followed him, while I remained behind weeping over the bodies of my family.

(Hibana pulls a tear out of her eye)

HIBANA

After the burial of my family I saw a star fall from the sky and disappear behind the mountain. Then I made the decision to climb it, I fell many times but I found myself, I learned who I really am.

YŪTO

Where's your sister now?

(Hibana smiles and looks at yūto)

HIBANA

Who knows? However, wherever she is, I hope she will be well and one day I will meet her. To see her walk towards me and look at me with a smile like she used to. I don't care if she's turned into a human hunter, I just... I just want to see her one last time, make sure she's okay.

(Hibana joins her hands and closes her eyes as if praying, but yūto after a while interrupts her the prayer she makes by asking)

YŪTO

What is human hunter?

HIBANA

After the war with the people, the Demons took the decision to create a team with the best and most talented demons. The group was called human hunters. These demons hunt and exterminate demon hunters to stay out of their way and eat people without them

someone's in the way. Basically in a war there is no winner or loser, both sides are losers. But I do not understand how far this situation will go, I hope it will end soon but until then, be careful yūto.

(Yūto smiles and answers)

YŪTO

I will. I'm not stressed by the thought in my mind that I might die. But that there will still be demons out there who want to eat people, that's not how I'm going to leave it. I WILL FIGHT!

(The sun is about to rise, the demon closes her eyes and smiles)

HIBANA

Mmm I see how the sun is about to rise, what a beautiful sight don't you agree?

YŪTO

And when the sun rises, don't you burn?

(Hibana stands up giving a helping hand and yūto to stand up while simultaneously answering)

HIBANA

Demons don't burn or die. Die is the right word you're looking for and that needs to happen to all of us.

(Yūto disagrees saying)

YŪTO

No. Not all demons. You are different, and I can say that you are not a demon, but something that no one will call you, or call yourself, is the same.

(Hibana with Wonder in her tone asks)

HIBANA

Then what am I?

(Yūto grasps hibana's hands and hibana blushes a little)

YŪTO

Man. No! No! You're more than human, you know why?! Because it doesn't matter what or how you look on the outside, whether you're a demon or not. But what matters is who you really are inside, inside your soul that no one can discover unless they trust you and search deep inside you! That's what counts! Am I right?

(Yūto smiles while hibana blushes even more and the color of the iris of her eyes from Black turns to a red color while Kenji "dream, prayer " appears on her eyes as well as the {White of her eye} remains in the white color that it had from the beginning. Then hibana looking at yūto says shyly)

HIBANA

R-really? Thank you very much, yūto. I am moved by your words, he-he-heehehee

(And tears start to flow from her eyes while she has a true smile on her lips. Then yūto looks at the sunrise and then concludes by saying)

YŪTO

I have to go, I have a long way to town.

(Hibana greets yuto who walks away. Before leaving yūto asks the demon from afar)

YŪTO

What's your name?!

(Hibana smiles while greeting him)

HIBANA

I'll let you know the next time we meet again. I PROMISE!

(When yūto caught the first stone to descend from the mountain the demon cries)

HIBANA

WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WILL FIND SOON! BELIEVE, FIGHT, DREAM!

(Yūto looks with a smile at hibana and bids her farewell. So while yūto is moving away hibana is thinking)

HIBANA

May you succeed and I will be by Your Side yūto. You just won an ally, hehe. So let's get started.

(He smiles and looks at the rising sun, then jumps off the mountain and starts running through the forest. At the same time as yūto moves away from the mountain all the time he thinks of the demon's words)

YŪTO

What I'm looking for I'll find soon.

(Images come to yūto's mind. Images: a katana with a black handle and with a white blade as well as an ordinary handguard, after a while the handguard changes and turns into a purple fire and the blade from white color changed to a black one. Shaking his head negatively and with closed eyes he runs through the forest telling himself)

YŪTO

No, no, that's not what he's going to mean.

(When he reached the place where his two teachers were accommodating him he shouted:)

INSIDE THE HOUSE OF THE TWO TEACHERS-DAY

YŪTO

I'M HOME!

(So he goes in. The old woman on the other hand prepares the morning meal and without facing yūto who enters the House says)

OLD LADY

You're here, son. have dinner with us. The food is already ready.

(And she turns to look at him. When she sees him freaking out, the old woman sees yūto with torn pants, torn blouse and on his face bruises, bumps and scratches)

OLD LADY

Son, Where Have you been?! You're dirty, go wash up. Go, go quickly.

(At these words yūto goes to wash himself, as you bathe the demon. Suddenly a voice whispers in his ear)

INDOOR, IN THE BATHROOM OF THE HOUSE-DAY

AIKO

She was very beautiful, sweet and very kind.

(Yūto shudders and stands up looking round at him, then again vertically and thinks)

YŪTO

Anyway, my idea would be. What does he mean, what I'm looking for I'll find soon?

(Then yūto puts his head in the water and with Closed Eyes takes a breath in the water as he thinks again)

YŪTO

I don't understand.

(In his mind comes the image of the same katana that he saw just before and through the blade flung a black demon that looks like a black fire. This fire is called akuma, and we will see him later in our story. Without a face, only with three eyes which has on each of them the kenji " terror, death, anxiety". Yūto sprang startled out of the water and with deep breaths said.)

YŪTO

What was that?! He looked like, like, like a katana and... a demon?

(He bends his head looking at himself in the water.)

YŪTO

Something wrong?

(When he has finished his bath he goes into the room but does not see his old clothes. On the bed he sees a black blouse that on the back of it is written in Japanese "hunter=猟師" in purple letters and then a black pants. Yūto approaches and looks at the blouse in Wonder.)

INSIDE, IN THE BEDROOM OF YŪTO-DAY

YŪTO

What's that? Where are my old clothes?

(Then the old woman who sits behind the door with her hands in her long sleeves and with a smile on her lips, answers)

OLD LADY

I threw your frayed clothes away if that's what you're wondering.

(Yūto terrified turns straight towards the old woman with the blouse in his hands and starts shouting)

YŪTO

DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT! WHY ARE YOU HERE?!

(The old woman smiles and approaches yūto saying with her eyes closed)

OLD LADY

Sorry, sorry hehe.

(The old woman opens her eyes saying to yūto)

OLD LADY

So, do you like your new uniform, son?

(Yūto looks at the blouse saying)

YŪTO

Uniform huh? Thank you very beautiful, but…

(The smile fades from his face and he is filled with Wonder)

YŪTO

What is that symbol, back on my shirt?

(The old woman sits on the floor of the room with her knees)

OLD LADY

Don't you recognize your symbol yūto? This is your symbol yūto, the symbol of demon hunters.

(Yūto holding the blouse in his hands sits on the floor)

YŪTO

Why is it written in purple letters?

OLD LADY

I found out when…

(The old woman stops talking, smiles, and after a while says again)

OLD LADY

You'll learn in the future. But now put on your clothes and come and eat before the food gets cold, then it won't be so delicious hehe.

(The old woman leaves the room, so as he wears his clothes yūto again thinks)

YŪTO

They still didn't tell me. I'll learn, I'll learn when I'm ready.

(After he has put on his clothes he takes a breath and with closed eyes thinks)

YŪTO

It's very hard to train for demon hunter, your life is a puzzle, hehe.

(At the same time yūto goes towards the table saying)

YŪTO

I'm tired. when Will I find out?

(A voice whispers to him, this voice resembles his father's)

FATHER

Soon, kid. Soon.

(Yūto looks right-left agitated saying)

YŪTO

What was that? I guess I need rest urgently, this training has ruined my mind.

(So he continues to walk towards the table, grasping with one of his two hands his head. At the table yūto sits in the center, while on his right sits the old woman, and on his left the old man. Yūto finishes his food, he barks and with an anxiety in his look says)

INDOORS, IN THE DINING ROOM OF THE HOUSE-DAY

YŪTO

It's time to say goodbye, I have to go.

(The Old Lady abruptly stops eating while the old man continues as if he doesn't care)

YŪTO

Your hospitality has been sufficient, and I do not wish to take advantage of it any longer. That's why I'm leaving today, right now.

(The old woman with anxiety begins to ask)

OLD LADY

Why?! Aren't you happy here, son? You don't like the food I make?! I'll make you more, whatever you want I'll make! Where are you going? And on the road you will catch cold, take with you something warm to wear on cold winter days. And if ... if...?

(Yūto replies in a serious tone)

YŪTO

I can't stay any longer, I have a mission to accomplish. To protect people from demons and I'm not going to change my mind! I won't back down! Not now at least! All I can say is, thanks for everything! I'm grateful for all you've done for me! I don't know what I would do without you by my side! Really thank you!

(The old man looks with a smile at yūto and frowns. Then they all go out into the courtyard to bid farewell to yūto. He is ready to leave, he stands outside in the courtyard of the house and before we say goodbye the old woman offers him a red mask of a demon)

OLD LADY

Take this mask hannya with you, it will bring you luck so at least we were told, hehe. It's kind of a good luck charm, it's one of the many customs of demon hunter when perfected. When a demon hunter has been perfected and leaves the teachers who trained him we offer him a mask like this to remind us wherever he is. But also to scare the Demons say the old masters who trained us hechee.

(As she tells him all this, yūto bends over, and the old woman wears the mask Hannya (般若) on the side of his head. It is a mask Hannya (般若) of a demon, in red color and with huge teeth as the mask has various scratches in many places from the years)

YŪTO

Thank you so much for the gift you're offering me.

(The Old Lady smiles sweetly with her eyes closed, and concludes:)

OLD LADY

But try not to break it in the hour of battle. This is a sign that you will have a tragic ending like demon hunter. So keep an eye on her, yeah?

(Yūto embraces the old woman telling her)

YŪTO

Rest assured, teacher, I won't break it or lose it. You have my word.

(At the end the old man approaches him, and yūto lets the old woman out of his arms. Yūto looks at the old man while the old man tells him in turn)

OLD MAN

I wish, I wish from the bottom of my heart that you would take the revenge you seek.

(Yūto smiles)

YŪTO

I don't want to take revenge anymore. But to protect, to protect the people who need my help. You taught me that, remember? Revenge, I hope, will come without my understanding.

(Into the old man's mind come images of yūto's education. With a grave look the old man continued to speak.)

OLD MAN

Mmm see, I hope you don't die easy, so you can help as many people as you can.

(Yūto again smiles and answers proudly)

YŪTO

Not like that. With such a teacher as I had it would be very difficult to take my head off.

(Before he starts walking, the elder stops him by grasping his shoulder. Yūto turns with curiosity and sees the old man giving him with both hands a black book)

YŪTO

Huh, what is it master?

(The old man says with a smile on his lips)

OLD MAN

It's my gift. It's not just the old lady giving you the old, useless things she wants to get rid of at home, hechee.

(As she tells him all this, she passes the leather strap over one shoulder of yūto, and the book is placed in the region of the belt at the sides. The old lady with nerves replies by saying:)

OLD LADY

Any old items?! What do you say to the kid today saying goodbye, do you want to fight?!

(The old man looks at the old woman with a cold look and says)

OLD MAN

Huh? I'm telling our son the truth. Your gift will be of no use to him on the long journey, unlike mine, of course.

(And crosses hands while has Look ironic)

OLD LADY

Where's he gonna need that book that hasn't been out of the loft in years?! It's full of dust, don't you see?!

(Then the old man and the old woman are in conflict and yūto asks as he has a drop of sweat on his face)

YŪTO

Master?

(old man says angry)

OLD MAN

What?!

YŪTO

And what is this book?

(The old man looks at yuto and in a serious tone answers him)

OLD MAN

My teacher gave it to me when I was perfected as demon hunter and told me to protect it. I never knew what it was written or what it was, but I'm going to beg you to do the same thing I did. Protect it like your eyes and you know, maybe one day it can be useful to you, hehe. Now go, my good son, have a good long journey.

(Yūto makes one bow out of respect to his two Masters. Then he gets up and turns his back to them, takes a long breath and starts walking while saying goodbye to them saying)

YŪTO

I'm leaving! I hope we meet again on a day like this.

(The old woman then cries as she bids him farewell)

OLD LADY

Come and visit us whenever you like, yūto my son! You're always welcome in this place, remember that!

(Yūto turns his head saying)

YŪTO

Sure, I'll come back! I promise! Good-bye, take care!

(Yūto raises one of his two hands in farewell to his masters without turning to face them. The old woman cries again)

OLD LADY

Be careful wherever you go!

(So yūto takes the road to the city, while the old woman tells the old man beside her with a smile on her lips)

OLD LADY

That kid. It looks very familiar to me, it looks like you, darling. He has the power you had when I first met you, remember?

(The old man takes pride in yūto and says he too in turn correcting the old woman as he has a smile on his lips)

OLD MAN

No, it doesn't look a bit like me, not even on my little finger. It's something much better than me. I may be a diamond, but he is the water of the river. Man can live without diamonds, but not without water. And his source, his learning, the meaning to live one more day even though he lost it all and has no other support beyond the beautiful and unpleasant memories he carries in the back of his mind. All this keeps him alive and that's why he will continue to walk towards the sunset.

(The old lady agrees and says with a smile)

OLD LADY

You're absolutely right. Now I notice everything you say to that kid. I'm glad.

(The old man half smiles and says his last words)

OLD MAN

Hehe, goodbye water of the river, head for the waterfall. in the end.

(Picture: the pink leaves of the cherry tree being taken away by the wind as it is spring and near summer. But after many yards that yūto has walked, he turns his head to face his Masters one last time. For his bad luck, however, he does not see them, they have disappeared and in their place he sees only pink cherry leaves taken by the wind and traveling them. Then yūto thought of what the old man and the old woman had said to him in the past.)

THE FLASHBACK BEGINS:

OLD LADY

We don't bite, don't worry, son heheee. We're the last people in this world to hurt you. Besides, spirits can't hurt anyone.

OLD MAN

Besides, what do you want a name for if your master is dead? What will you do with it that will be of use to you?

RETURN FROM THE FLASHBACK OF THE PAST:

(So he smiles while simultaneously a tear rolls from his eye)

YŪTO

Mmm, now I understand what he meant. Some day I Shall Know Your Name, master, and meet you again. Until then, so long, Teacher, Teacher. Thanks for being my mainstay to keep going.

(And with these words he turns his back and starts walking towards the first town. At the same time the pink leaves travel far, far away, until they reach another city. They pass the various buildings, people and enter a Japanese temple. There we see a 16-year-old girl with orange hair while wearing a black uniform. The girl is kneeling in front of the old man who has a white beard and is almost the same as the old man who taught yūto. (SPOILER! It is the brother of the master of yūto) the elder catches one of the pink leaves in the air, then opens his palm and faces the pink leaf of the cherry tree. Then smiling he leaves it from his hand and the Leaf travels away where the wind takes it)

Elder

Today a new hunter was perfected. You know what to do, aiko.

(Aiko rises from the ground and says making a bow to the elder)

GIRL, 16 YEARS OLD, NAMED: AIKO MIYASAKI

Yes, sensei. Understand.

(So aiko wears the hood so her hair doesn't show and leaves the temple)
