"My friend, my friends, and their child are in danger! We must aid them!"
*Ba thump* *Ba thump* *Ba thump x100*
For a moment, Lewis' mind was clouded with nothing but the echoing beating of his heart. It was so loud — louder than a bass in high volume — it deafened him temporarily.
"My friend!" Devon squeezed his hands tightly, tugging it. Her action snapped him back to reality.
"Uh." He blinked, his gaze falling to their hands. "Sure. Let's help them."
Before he could think, Lewis agreed. Upon hearing his answer, her eyes brightened up in relief.
"Really?" Her eyes twinkled like a child receiving her first toy.
He looked up, sighing helplessly at the sight of her. "Really."
"Thank you!" She expressed sincerely. "Let's go!"
Determined, Devon let go of his hands and prompted to go out as if she was about to save the world. With no plans or any of the sort, Devon thought she'd figure it out on the way.
