Back when Devon was still in the hospital, recovering so she could get out discharged, there was a time that etched in her mind. While she watched the business news about the Qin Empire's scandal, a knock from outside the door reached her ear.
"Come in," she said without taking her eyes off the television, thinking it was just Dion. When she heard the door open and closed, her brows arched as her visitor just stood by the door. So, she finally turned her head in the door.
There, Quentin stood with a flower in his hand while the other was inside his pocket. He shrugged when their eyes locked.
"Sorry. Can't help it," he said, marching towards her slowly. He placed the flower on the bedside table, taking a seat on the chair near the bed. During all this, Devon kept quiet and just watched him.
She glanced at the flowers he brought before shifting her eyes to him. "You don't have to do that, but thank you."
