Chereads / Cross Heart Adventurers / Chapter 37 - Analus Island

Chapter 37 - Analus Island

On an Island in Manu, all the navy ships and base captains situated in Manu had gathered for a meeting. A meeting that would reveal the state of the seas in Manu and how to go about the situation.

Ships ranging from numbers one to twenty parked in front of the island, the navy flag with a green anchor standing tall in front of the three story building of Manu headquarters.

Ade, the commander in chief of Manu headquarters stood in front of the long table where all navy captains sat. "It seems as of late terror has overridden Manu." He pointed at his board that had five bounty posters. "These five make up the strongest pirates in Manu." He pointed and mentioned each name and bounty. "Arata of the Fresh breed Pirates with a two million bounty, Miji of the Blade Pirates with one point seven million, Mateo of the Hook Pirates with one point five million, Big Jim of the Big Jim Pirates with one point two million and Kirk of the Crossbow Pirates with one million."

The navy captain stared in awe at the numbers for the heads of the pirates, Ade continuing after their satisfying responses. "Reaching a million in a small country like Manu is a huge accomplishment." He slammed his palm against the board. "But four out of the mighty pirates of the sea have been easily defeated. The only win we the Earthians can take is in relation to Kirk that was defeated by the rookie Cross Heart Adventurers."

He pulled down the picture of Kirk and three more guys, leaving only one poster on the board. Then brought out one picture, posting it on the board. The wanted poster was of a boy around nineteen wearing a black head band over spiky silver hair, a goofy grin on his lips. Five million was spelt under the bounty poster, gasps escaping the lips of the navy. "This may seem like we're overdoing it, but it just means that we have to cut out the weeds before they destroy everything we've built."

"So what's the plan?" the captain of squadron three asked.

"We need ships on every Manu Island. The Island we predict they'll go to is Analus Island due to the event taking place. We have already requested the guild bring adventurers to help our search and we even have a special officer ready in case something plans on happening." Ade slammed his hand on the board once more. "At all costs, we the navy must root all evil corrupting the seas."

.....

A wanted poster dropped out of the newspaper Luna picked up to read, her hands reaching for it before it landed on the ground. "It seems a new pirate got a bounty."

The wanted poster was of the boy with the head band, his name and bounty written below: Elias G. Fritz, £5,000,000.

Shinzo frowned, looking up from his accounting notebook. "Who cares and why is Analus Island taking so long."

"Stop complaining," Aline snapped, taking the wanted poster from Luna with a scissors in hand. "You need patience if you want to live this adventurer life."

Luna blinked, watching Aline cut out the boy's picture. "What are you doing?"

"Isn't it obvious," she said, grinning. "I'm cutting him out for my good looking boy's diary."

"You really scare me," Octavius commented, hiding his cake away as if she would take it.

She shushed him as she finished cutting the picture, grinning at her work. "To tell you the truth, it has always been my dream to meet good looking men from around the world."

Shinzo rolled his eyes. "Stupid cook."

"What did you say you dumb first mate?"

The two grabbed each other by the hand, wrestling and spitting insults at each other.

Octavius turned to Luna, ignoring the two idiots. "Now that I think about it, isn't Analus Island where Pirate King Blanco was executed."

Luna nodded. "That's what the festival is for. Analus Island celebrates the death of the menace to the sea while pirates who respect him go this time of year to revere him."

"I know it's our job, but I don't want to bump into any pirates," Octavius mumbled.

"It's too bothersome."

Paolo chuckled. "But it'll be fun, fighting pirates."

"Better not cause trouble," Aline said, looking away from her fight with Shinzo.

Paolo laughed, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "I can't guarantee that."

...

The most populated island on Manu really lived up to its title, people flooding in and out of the streets. The Cross Heart Adventurers stood in the middle of the fray, Paolo grinning from ear to ear in his new environment.

"Analus Island is so cool."

Aline grinned. "I am very excited. A festival equals cute boys." She spun around on her toes. "Cute boys, cute boys, cute boys."

"And alcohol," Luna cheered.

"And cake," Octavius said, licking his lips.

Shinzo huffed. "You idiots need to focus. Don't lose your concentration." His eyes gleamed. "We came for the money."

"All you know is money," Aline mumbled.

"Come again, little Miss Boy crazy," Shinzo sang.

"Why you?"

Paolo grinned, raising his fists in the air. "Okay guys let's go have fu..." he cleared his throat before he made the regrettable statement. "Let's take the quest."

The crew narrowed their eyes, he was totally about to say fun.

.....

The Blue Dawn Adventurers and the Cross Heart Adventurers met in the guild reception, Paolo's presence throwing Luca completely off. Paolo smiled while Luca pinched a distraught William to relieve stress.

"What a coincidence, the two of us meeting in the same place."

Luca forced a smile. "A very unwelcome one, but a coincidence nonetheless."

Before they could continue catching up, the door to the main building opened up and a man with short blue hair wearing a royal blue coat walked in. The sun badge on his coat with a D on it gleamed, a smile gracing his lips.

"Welcome adventurers, I am Angelo Diaz, the head of the guild." He smiled at Luca, his gloved hand reaching for his hair. "Hello brother."

Luca greeted his older brother before the head of the guild turned to Paolo, his lips stiff. "You must be Paolo, the Rigards."

Paolo brushed off the hostility with a smile. "Yes."

"It seems your two crews are the only ones who decided to come," he commented. "Anyways, I'll brief you on your quest. A lot of pirates usually gather to the island during this time of the year because tomorrow is the anniversary of the pirate king." He looked at Paolo when he said it then continued talking. "The festival tomorrow is to celebrate his execution. Pirates come here for two reasons to stock up for the next country or to visit the pirate kings grave. Because of this, we can't be sure of the people's safety. We need adventurers to make rounds of the island and protect the festival from the pirates at any cost."

"How are we going to do the rounds?" Luca asked.

"We'll separate you guys into teams of two. The teams will be given tomorrow, so meet back here at six o'clock sharp, any questions." They shook their head. "Then you're dismissed."

.....

Somewhere near Analus Island, a navy ship sat on the harbor. A navy officer ran into a study located on the ship, falling to his knees and breathing heavily.

"Vice-Admiral Alek, pirates have been seen heading here, what do we do?"

A man with long silver hair packed to the back sat behind a desk, flipping through a newspaper from a few days ago looked at the navy officer. "Then let them come."

"B-but Vice-Admiral these pirates are no joke. They're the strongest pirates in Manu."

The vice admiral smiled. "It wouldn't be any fun if we go to them. Let them come to us first, I'm ready when they are."

The officer didn't even try to argue, bowing before walking out. He walked past a woman in captain's apparel: a black long coat, a cap of the same color with her title on it and a golden bird. She had milky chocolate skin, her white shirt underneath her jacket fitting nicely on her body.

"I know there's another reason you don't want to go after them."

He handed her a piece of paper alongside the bounties that had been revealed at the meeting. "Notice something."

"Not really, why are you showing me the list of adventurers taking the protection quest and this bounty."

He clicked his tongue. "You have no sense of adventure, Aiya."

"My duty is to protect."

"Anyways, the common factor there is the G."

She looked at the papers again, noting the G in Paolo G. Rigards and Elias G. Fritz. "So, it just means they're both from the God Clan."

A smirk played on Alek's lips. "Aiya, darling, can't you see it. Why is it that two members of the God Clan are arriving on this legendary island at the same time. It can't be a coincidence."

"You're theorizing again, it's probably just a coincidence."

"You don't see the vision Aiya. The God Clan, the greatest clan in the world that has bred legend after legend just pooped out two people from different side of the spectrum and they meet, on this island. This special island."

"So?"

"So? So, Aiya, can't you see. This has happened before. The way I see it, we'll be entering a new era. A legendary era that the world is yet to see, I'm drowning in excitement just thinking about it."

"You really like the God Clan."

"As a journalist, the God Clan is just too intriguing of a clan for me not to care. A clan whose structure is the only exception to the fixed power rules that all clans have. A clan blessed by God. I wonder, what is it that makes them, so special is." Before Aiya could answer, he jolted up, grabbing his white long jacket draped on a nearby chair. "I'm too excited to wait for tomorrow, let's go to town."

She sighed, following behind him. "Fine, fine."

The vice admiral smiled as he got to the door, turning the knob, let's see what you've got,
