Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Prologue

The night was pitch black. The moon and the stars were completely hidden by dark domineering clouds which stole the last bit of luminescence. Sometimes here and there, like a crack in sky, dry lightning would flash along the clouds, enlightening the surroundings. The atmosphere was so calm and silent that it was frightening. Not a single leaf on the trees was moving. It was suffocating. The whole nature was as if warning it's habitants for the upcoming violent storm.

In this stifling weather the southern ' Dream Forest ' had become the the holy land of ghost, undead and different variety of creatures that fed on either demonic or pure negative energies. Commonly, this particular forest of Fye empire didn't get any visitors even in the daytime. But this particular day was an exception.

Through the dense deep forest a carriage was moving slowly towards the deeper part of it. The coachman's pale face was covered with sweat as he drove carefully between the heavily pact trees. It seemed he was frightened by something. Beside him another man was seated. He held a big lantern to lighten the road ahead of the carriage and was monitoring the surroundings restlessly. He spoke to the coachman, " Ben, the girl inside is already dead. Let's just throw her here. I don't want to go any deeper than this."

The coachman Ben spoke with resentment, " Do you think I want to go any deeper in this damned forest to invite my death?! If the Young Master hadn't placed a location device on my body, I would have thrown the girl's body at the entrance of the forest. Now hold the lantern properly. Sam, I am going to have heart attack if suddenly something jumps out of the dark."

The other man, Sam's face grew white like a paper.

" Ah... don't say such ominous thing. Ah...I really didn't want to come here if it was not for some extra silver. But now I am really regretting. What if i can never go back home... what if..."

It is said that emotions are like a infectious disease affecting people under same situations. Thus Sam's fears soon affected Ben.

He roared, " Shut up! Now who is taking ominously?". Then he immediately lowered his voice and nervously looked at the surroundings for some time, then complained," See you made me curse out loud. What if those undead hear us?"

Ben spoke with frustration," If only the king hadn't placed ban on slavery then we didn't have to place this much secrecy about dumping a corpse."

" Yeah, true...say Ben, the girl inside was so beautiful why did the young master kill her so quickly after buying? Even one day hasn't passed after she entered the mansion."

" Ai... the young master didn't kill the girl. It seemed the orphanage she was staying had sold her without her awareness so when the young master tried to rape her she just committed suicide, by banging her head on the wall."

" Sa..say Ben, the girl won't turn into ghost or a undead right? I mean....she had such resentment while dying. And..and we are now in the Dream Forest...so..so.."

"Shut the fuck up!!! Why are dumping your damn fear onto me? Keep it to yourself."

"....."

"Be..Ben.."

"Damn it!! What?!!"

"That...your location badge is shining. We don't have to go any deeper."

"...."

"Ah..why didn't you say earlier? Now quickly help me to get the corpse from the carriage. I will hold the lantern for you."

"Me..me..??"

"Sam, who else is there without you?"

Sam silently resigned to his fate and opened the carriage door nervously. He roughly carried out the dead body outside the carriage. As he approached Ben, the lantern's dim light fell upon the girl's face.

The girl was so beautiful that as if the goddess had descended on earth from heaven. Her skin was soft, snow white without any blemish. Her small oval face was as if god's careful creation after many years' of effort. Although her eyes were closed, her overflowing beauty didn't reduce a bit. Her smooth small pink lips were so appealing that they could make a man go crazy only for taking a bite. As Sam held her in his arms her long golden hair cascaded down like a waterfall until it touched the ground.

Sam unconsciously gulped. He had seen the young master taking this girl into the mansion from afar. Now that he had seen her closely his desire to taint this pure, untouched beauty rose highly with every second. He even forgot the surrounding circumstances and the most important thing of all, the girl was already dead.

Sam as if mesmerized, touched her face, then his hand slowly moved downwards towards the two rising mountains on her chest.

" Sam!! What the fuck are you doing?!! Has your desire eaten your fucking brain?!! Wake up!! She is dead, DEAD!!"

Ben cursed out loud.

Sam as if was thrown into cold water, regained his sense and stuttered," Ben..Ben this girl is really a demoness. Dead but still seduced me..."

Ben snickered, " Oh really? Now throw her. Why are you still holding her?"

Sam hurriedly threw the girl on the ground. The girl's frail body rolled twice, then hit with a tree before stopping.

"Let's go. Hurry Sam or I will leave you behind."

" Yes, yes coming.."

Sam eyed the girl for the last time before hopping on to the carriage. The carriage sped up and soon disappeared into the darkness.

Everything became silent afterwards. Sometimes there were some strange noises like sobbing, laughing, shouting depicting the infamous paranormal activity of the dream forest. In such situations where the forest became full of demonic or negative energy the living animals of it quietly moved to outermost part of the forest. Thus in this specific day there was not a single living being nearby. The forest at this time was exclusively reserved for ghosts or undead.

Suddenly a intense lightning flashed throughout the sky with a ear splitting noise following afterwards. This lightning was as if a signal, welcoming the violent storm. Strong wind began to blew away the dry leaves on the ground making a continuous 'sha..sha' sound.

In this immense chaos the small girl's body moved suddenly. The demonic energy around her began to accumulate in such dense concentration that it was insane. Her long cascading golden hair which was ceaselessly flowing in the violent wind, slowly turned into deep black in colour, deeper than the dark night. Her white skin turned into unhealthy pale white colour. She slowly opened her eyes against the stormy night. Her blood red pupils glowed in the dark like two small fireballs.

She had no breath. Her heart didn't beat as if it was frozen forever. Her body was cold as ice. She stared blankly in the space for sometime, her face indifferent. As time passed confusion clouded her eyes as if seeking answer. She placed her small exquisite hands slowly on her heart and was astonished beyond belief. Her heart wasn't beating neither was she breathing. She stared at the unfamiliar environment as she thought,

' Am i dead or alive? '
