Alice wiped her tears. She was still upset about her father's death but she knew she had to move on now. She can now finally live a peaceful life and do whatever she wanted to do. After all, She was now a millionaire!
Alice thought about how she should spend the money. It was always her dream to live in a mansion, with many butlers and guards. Who wouldn't want such a luxurious life? However, James was never able to give her this lifestyle since he was not a very rich man. Even after becoming rich, he denied Alice her right of a luxurious life and chose to marry a new women.
Alice could feel her anger boil inside her as she thought about how she had been used by James for all these years. She had decided that she would provide herself the lifestyle she deserved and never be dependent on anyone else now. Without a second thought, she jumped out from her bed and after putting on her makeup and jewellery, left her apartment to fulfill her dreams .

Alice stared at the huge building of Larson's State Agency as she stood outside its gate. It was the biggest state agency in the entire city. Only the rich and influential people can afford to even think about contacting the Larson Estate Agency. The agency was famous for only suggesting houses worth over hundreds of thousands of dollars!
Alice walked in proudly as she checked her pockets for her VIP Credit Card. After having 5 million dollars in her account, the bank issued her a VIP Card. There were only 10 VIP cards in the entire York city! She never imagined she would ever be able to buy such a large mansion, especially by herself.
"Hello madam how we may help you?", said a women as she greeted Alice. She looked elegant and modern. She must be the manager of the company. However she looked familiar to Alice. As Alice tried to recognise her, she suddenly remembered. "Faye is that you?!", exclaimed Alice. The women was her university classmate, Faye! She was an introvert and nerd type of girl in university. Although She and Alice were not very good friends in university, it was good to meet an old classmate. Who knew she would become the manager of such important company!
"Oh Alice, it's you", said Faye in a boring tone. She did not seem very excited after meeting Alice. She was the butt of everyone's joke at the university because of her introvert and nerd nature. She hated her university life as she would always be bullied by everyone. Although Alice never bullied her, Faye still felt jealous of her because Alice was the most beautiful girl in university with many admirers. Faye was one of those girls who were very happy when Alice married James because they knew James was poor and broke.
"Well Faye, actually I am looking for a-", before Alice could finish, Faye interrupted her swiftly, "sorry we do not have any vacancies for female receptionist. Please come later to search for a job. We have a lot of customers today.", said Faye coldly. This was her opportunity to embarrass Alice as much as she can!
"Actually I wanted to buy a house", replied Alice. She was astonished after receiving a cold welcome from her classmate and was still confused that why would Faye treat her that way. As soon as she said this, Faye immediately burst into laughter. " Stop joking around Alice. You and buy a house? Are you willing spend your husband's entire net worth by purchasing a one-room apartment?", Faye laugher mockingly. She will not let this opportunity slip away to embarrass Alice.
"Actually I want to buy a mansion, not a one-room apartment", said Alice. Her mood was spoiled by now. Why do people always judge a boon by its cover?
"Haha do you even know how much a 2000 square yards mansion costs? The lowest price is 800,000 dollars. You couldn't make that money even in 10 lifetimes.", Faye said loudly. By now, everyone was staring at Alice. She must be mad to come here and make a fool of herself!
Alice could not take it any longer. She took out her VIP card and threw it at Faye. "Great, give me the most expensive 2000 yards house then.", said Alice proudly. This was the first time she was spending money so lavishly, and that too her own!
Faye instantly got angry as the card flew towards her face. How can she be humiliated like this? " If the transaction is unsuccessful, you'll be in jail", shouted Faye angrily as she walked to insert the card in the machine. How can Alice buy such a house? She was a poor wife of a broke husband!
"What's going on?", somebody shouted. It was the CEO of the company, Sir Richard! The fight was so loud that he himself had to come to see what was going on. "Sir, this lady is trying to waste our time and pretending to afford our houses by showing us this tampered VIP Credit card", said Faye. "The CEO was here now. Alice will surely be in a big trouble", she thought as she handed over the card to the Richard. There were only 10 people with a VIP card in York city. How could Alice be one of them?
Richard took a casual look at the card and instantly froze. It was the York city's VIP Card! The card looked genuine with the Bank stamp on it! What a lucky day to have a VIP customer!
"Don't worry, let's just get rid of her. Security!", shouted Faye. She was perplexed why the CEO won't say anything so she called the security herself. Richard's expression suddenly changed. This might be his luckiest day and Faye was ruining it!
"SHUT UP! You are fired! Pack your things and leave!", shouted Richard. How could Faye be so careless and not recognise a VIP customer? "I am very sorry Madam. Please forgive us. Come, I will show you the mansion", said Richard politely. The employees were in shock. Was this lady really a millionaire?
"But-but-", stammered Faye but couldn't find any words. Alice smiled sympathetically as she followed Richard.
