At Lin Family villa

Lin Yanxi came back home from her two days study tour at seven o'clock. She entered the gate after scanning her fingerprint and walked towards the villa door. She pushed opened the door with a luggage in her one hand and called for her mom.

" Mom, hello , big sis? Ranran?? Is there anyone? " She felt a little bit odd as the home was dark and the light switches weren't working but all the windows are open and wind rushed through the whole living room.

Yanxi tried to turn on her phone torchlight only to realize that her phone was dead. She instinctively walked towards the stairs and head towards her room but before she could climb the stairs her legs froze. Yanxi tried to stay calm and slowly bent forward to check what did she hit with the little light coming through the window from outside .

Before she could analyze the thing she saw a person lying there until she saw her father's face.

Her heart busted. Panic took over her body and tears kept streaming unknowingly as she hasnt caught the gust of the situation.

" Papa, wake up. How come you are here and lying unmoved. Please open your eyes, talk to me Pa. Where is Mama and sister? Pa wake up please, dont scare me...." she kept crying sobbing in between trying hard to wake her dad up.

"Yanyan, run...run.. do...nt come ba..ck !!!"

Suddenly Yanxi turned around hearing her Mom and tried to figure out where the voice is coming from. She strode forward the second floor.

" Mom, where are you? Why is Pa lying there mom???" She yelled. Her voice was broken as she kept searching for her mom amidst the darkness. Finally she saw a shadow in her parent's room and push opened the door. She saw a man in a mask was covering her Mom's mouth with one hand and holding her twisted arms with another hand from behind.

Yanxi was so shocked that she didn't know what to do after seeing her mom like this.

" What do you want from us? Spare my mom . I will give you alot of money . Spare her and tell me how much you want?" Yanxi tried to sound brave and convincing but only she knows how broken and scared her inside have become. Her heart was beating fast. She held her fingers tightly in her long sleeve.

" Huh!! We dont need your money. We only want your lives. Good you are here now we dont need to work hard in finding and killing you." The maskman said sarcastically. " Any last words with your mom?" The maskman released his hand from her Mom's mouth.

" Yanxi child, you shouldnt have come here. Run... run far away. Your sisters are already safe in a place you dont have to worry. Dont worry about me anymore and run from here. Mom and dad have always loved you three much. We both will watch you over from above. As long as you are safe I am happy..."

Baam....

Before Ye Shujian could finish the maskman has already shot her.

The bullet sound brought back Yanxi's sense. She couldnt believe what happened. It was all so sudden that her mom's last words kept booming in her mind ' As long as you are safe' with that she suddenly stood up and rushed out from the room. The maskman saw her running out and he also followed Yanxi with gun in his hand.

Yanxi ran down the stairs fortunately her running skills came in use.

' boom, boom, boom.'

Lin Yanxi dont know how she reached the gate but she kept running despite feeling pain in her waist back and in her left leg. All her energy was drained but she could not slow down. Her safety was her mother's last wish how can she give up now. She ran and ran until she reached the main road and slowly slowed down. She couldnt move anymore, the street lights and the car headlights all slowly blurred in her eyes. The horn sounds and the noisy road suddenly became quiet and she frozed in the middle of the road until...

' boom.'

She was up in the sky and fell down and her cheeks were rubbed in the stony road and all she could see was blood and her eyes closed.

'Mom, sorry I am such an unfilial daughter. I couldn't even fulfill your last wish. But I am happy that I am coming to you.' Yanxi thought tears fell from her eyes and....

Yanxi slowly opened her eyes. A white ceiling appeared. 'Am I dead? Where am I?'. She realized her half face was covered with oxygen mask and her surroundings seem like a hospital ward. More like a VIP ward.

'Was I rescued!? Am I reborn? No that cant happen. But its so unreal to be alive. If I am alive I thank god for giving me a chance to live again. I will make sure to take the f***ing hell out if the one that killed my parents, shattered my family.' Yanxi kept thinking.

" Doctor, how many more days will it take for her to wake up?" An old man in his 80's was sitting in the sofa in the corner of the room with one man in his fifties standing beside the sofa and another man in his forties sitting opposite the old man wearing a white coat ensuring his identity as the doctor. Before replying to the old man the doctor gave a look towards where Yanxi was lying and noticed Yanxi has woke up.

" Master Shen, the lady has woke up." As soon as the doctor finished talking the three man walked beside the patient bed.

" Child, how are you feeling?" Master Shen asked, his hand trembling and his wrinkles were twitching giving a vibe of worry and despair.

Yanxi was still trying to take up the scene before her when she saw three man walking by her side and the doctor removed her oxygen mask slowly.

" Where am I? Where are my parents? Have you found them too?" Yanxi threw another question to them.

" Child, I am your maternal grandfather. I am sorry I could not save your parents. But I am sure they will always want you to stay alive and well and healthy. You have to recuperate quickly so that we can find your sisters." Master Shen said , his eyes full of tears as he looked at his longlost granddaughter with a face of his daughter. He did not know how to comfort the girl nor was he sure what the girl was feeling right now at the moment. So all he could do was to give her another hope to live. He just can't afford to loose another part of his daughter who had far left him to start a family with a man who she loved dearly. Now finally when he can hold onto one of her flesh he just can not give up his hope.

As Yanxi slowly tried to understand each of the old man's words she fell silent. Her maternal grandfather? Wasnt her mom an orphan! But my mom is Ye , he is Shen. How can they be related. Is he really telling the truth? The fifteen years of her life , all the things she had known of her mom suddenly became a question. Who exactly her mom was? Then was her father also telling the truth when he said he is also an orphan? Then who was the maskman? He said he did not need our money. What is the actual truth? Even her life has become a question now. As she tried to process everything her body felt weak again and she fell asleep again...
