I didn't know I was staring at her, I realized that only when she turned towards me and...
Smiled at me.
Her hair flew in the air.
He long hair, her tanned skin, her eyes...
Everything gave me a strange kind of peace.
Her eyes show endless mysteries, they are calling me to unveil them.
Her smile...
Her smile was just enough to erase a man's grief.
" What are you thinking, Ryan?" She asked as she tucked the strands of her hair behind her ears.
My words got stuck inside my throat.
" Ryan!" She called again, her voice made my heart skip a beat.
It was not sweet like honey or sugar but I felt a pull, warmth in it.
" I don't know Mel!" I blurted.
This is the first time I am calling her Mel.
Though I don't want to call anyone with the name which was belonged only to her, my princess. I don't know why but it just came.
She took my hands in hers, I was playing with the smile.
Her hands were not soft as cotton but warm enough to melt me.
" What were you thinking Ryan? It's okay to share Ryan." She said.
" Mel, can I lie down in your lap?" I blurted it before thinking.
Why Ryan? Why?
" Sure!" She said shocking me.
A small smile curved up.
I lied down in her lap, she laced her hands into my hair.
" My mother never cared about me in my childhood my dad was not an exception. She was busy socializing and my dad was busy building his empire. I was left alone, I was an orphan with all the wealth and parents.
They never attended my school parents' meeting, they were not there to congratulate me when I got into the school team, they were not there when I played my first match with my captaincy.
They weren't near me when I was sick, they weren't near me when I was happy. We never shared anything! Except for the blood and same house till I was 15.
I always envied children who walk with their parents, because I have not even walked together with them.
I always craved care, love, and warmth. I had friends but none was real, I had a girlfriend but she dated me because I was the captain of the school team. "
THIRD PERSON'S POV:
"I had a girlfriend but she dated me because I was the captain of the school team!" He let out a bitter chuckle.
" That's when I went to France to flush out my exhaustion. There I saw a girl. A little fairy! Her smile, her laugh, her caring nature, and her love for people.
I just spent three days with her that was enough for me to love her. Don't mistake my love, it was not something romantic. She was just a small girl, filled with love.
She was my first love, till then I loved basketball, I loved music, I loved books but everything was materialistic but she was the first human I loved, she was the human who reciprocated it.
But I... I..." He closed his eyes tightly as the tears rolled down his cheek.
She squeezed his one hand in assurance, still caressing his hair.
" But I lost her! Why did I do that? I was selfish! Even after having nothing and only her why did I leave her? She cried, she hugged my neck and cried. Cried to take her with me but what did I do?
I left her there and they killed her! They killed her!" His cries increased.
She tried to soothe him to not attract the public's attention.
Luckily everyone was busy in their world not caring about others.
Maybe that's what she thought!
" I am a sinner! I killed her!" He cried.
" You did not do anything! Ryan, it was not your fault. Some, or the other way she would have died, it's destiny!" She said.
" But I could have saved her, she believed me that I will protect her! But I didn't! What have I done?" He said as he stared at the empty sky.
" Did you know she was in danger?"
" No!"
" Then how could you do something? Anyone there would have done that! Stop feeling like that!" Mellina stressed the last four words.
" But I just couldn't forget it, everywhere I turn I hear her calling me Ry! Ry! Ry! It makes me go mad! I don't know what to do!" He cried.
Mellina didn't answer anything but just caressed gis hair.
Slowly he fell into a deep slumber.
Even the sun felt pity for him and not wanting to burn the people who keep hurting him he decided to fade away.
He faded into shades of reds and orange, spreading the warmth to the world.
For Mellina, the salty breeze felt even saltier seeing Ryan's state.
She stared at the ocean which was singing all the time.
The peace she gets always when comes to the beach was not there today, instead, everything buzzed in her head.
Not alone his problem but she had tons of things to solve. She had her own burden, which made her leave her career.
But anyways she knew she had to leave her career one day.
She simply stared at the orange ocean the fading sun was reflecting on the ocean.
Angel came and sat beside her.
Her eyes looked tired.
" What are you thinking Sis?" Angel asked leaning on Mellina's shoulder.
She doesn't know about anything that happened minutes ago.
" Nothing, I was just thinking about our lives!" She mumbled.
" Everything will go good sis! Don't worry much!" Angel said kissing Mellina's cheek.
" I know! But promise me..."
" What promise?"
" Whatever happens, you will not worry about anything, you'll just do the role assigned to you!" Mellina asked for a promise.
" I promise you, sis. I will never get distracted by anything that happens around me. I will just do my role!" She promised.
Mellina kissed her forehead.
The warm breeze caressed them, the moment would goosebumps.
" We are not the cliche sisters, right?" Angel asked.
" Why?
" Because we don't do pinky promises!"
Both laughed and the laughter mixed with the hundreds of laughter that were heard on the beach.
