Sierra and Charles were trying to adjust to their current and new pattern of life.
Despite the change in status, the kids were well versed with their new father. Even though they weren't close enough, to begin with, they didn't deny his sudden appearance in their homes.
Sierra had tried her best to not show her mixed feelings to her kids and carried with her usual stuff. She served the food at the dining table where Ailey and Noah were seated. Along with them, Charles returned from the office to wait for their dinner.
But the moment Sierra entered their dining room, she was greeted with the sight of Ailey giving Charles a book, "Can you please help me understand all of these difficult words?"
"Sure! Give it to me." Charles took the book from Ailey and looked at the content, "Hmm. I will help you with it after dinner. Did you get this as your homework?" He asked Ailey softly to which Ailey nodded her head.
