It was a Telescope, nothing ordinary and very expensive. It was coated in gold, it's lenses curved out of quartz crystals and glowed in the dark. His grand father had sent it to him from Great Britain. It came with an instruction manual which said it was only to be used at a specific time. Julian was mesmerized and couldn't wait for the said hour to come.
It was 01:00 at night and Julian woke up to try out his new telescope. According to the instructions, he was to point it north far into the stars. He picked it up and made it stand at an angle. He adjusted it to the recommended reading, pointed it north and looked closely through the lenses. At first all he called see was shooting stars and a brightness in the distance. He adjusted his readings again so they would be precise. He looked again and what he saw made him jump in fear. He glanced upon a human like species, but through a telescope he thought to himself. He reached for his bed so he could hide in his sheets.
His heart was racing, he couldn't breath from fear. He thought maybe his grand father had known all along. But his curiosity would not let him be, he got up again to have another look readjusted the knob and there again he saw it, a pretty face in the distance with a smile on its face like it knew he was glancing at her. He continued looking and in a flash of light he was zapped into the lenses of the telescope.
