Chapter 14 - The Ability to Stand on the Shoulders of Human Intelligence

Looking at his watch, it was 11:30 pm.

Shawn knew that it was time for him to rest.

Although he had the super learning ability, his body had its limits.

If he didn't sleep, his brain would be exhausted and that would be a problem.

He patted his stomach expecting to feel stuffed but instead, the strong sense of hunger lingered.

"I don't think there will be an end to this, I will just need to keep making more food. It would be a waste of time."

"I will have to find something to substitute the energy that food gives."

Sean did not immediately go to sleep. He took out a few pieces of paper.

"What's the Ball Owner doing? He's had his meal. Now you want to draw?"

"F*ck, doesn't he have too much free time?"

"There's only one person on Earth. How is he living so comfortably?"

"The Ball Owner is adaptable. Could it be that he wants to draw Crayon Shin Chan?"

"Looking at how unfamiliar he is at drawing, I'm guessing it's just doodles. When a person is in a desperate situation, they will do some weird things. This is very normal."

India: "I'm guessing he's drawing women. Isn't there a saying in Great China? Draw a cake to satisfy your hunger."

China: "The people of India think with their butts. Drawing cakes to satisfy hunger, is that any real reason to draw cakes? Besides, do you think the Ball Owner is still hungry now?"

"I want to have Ball Owner's babies..."

"Eh… Look. He doesn't seem to be drawing."

The people of the world could see clearly through the HD cameras.

Shawn was writing out complex chemical equations on the pieces of paper.

"Is there an expert who knows chemistry? Can you explain what the Ball Owner is writing?"

There were nearly ten billion people in the world, there were at least ten thousand chemical experts.

At this moment, someone popped up.

When Shawn had filled out a page, someone said, "The chemical formula written by the Ball Owner seems to be an energy consumption formula. It's extremely complicated."

Energy consumption? What is he doing with this?

Everyone was a little confused.

Shawn was indeed writing out chemical formulas but no one would have thought that he was writing a chemical formula to solve his body's energy problems.

For a long time, Shaw's brain would be working at high-intensity levels.

The total amount of energy his brain would be using was more than the total amount of energy a few teams of scientists would use their brains.

If this problem wasn't solved soon, the body might soon be dragged down to its death by the brain.

At first, it may be because the brain uses up too much energy but the real problem was that the body was too thin.

If one doesn't get enough food, you're only skin and bones which poses a risk of death.

He couldn't use ordinary food to supplement his body's needs. He simply couldn't keep up.

For example, although he had eaten more than 200 pounds of food, he had barely alleviated his intense hunger.

The hunger represented the loss of total calories in the body.

After eight hours of using the brain and the number of calories used, if he only used food to replenish his calories, even a few tons of food wouldn't be enough.

If he kept on eating, that would be fine but he would not have time to do anything else.

Shawn was glad he stopped his research. Otherwise, he might not even know how he died.

If he wanted to continue using his brain at a high intensity, he would have to find some superfoods or some kind of substitute.

Strictly speaking, iron, calcium, even stones all had energy.

However, even if you were to forcefully swallow these items, if the teeth or organs were not strong enough, that would be problematic.

Everything in the world had a chemical effect.

Different food and ingredients, if not properly processed and eaten together, would be poisonous or would have excessive heat.

This was also the reason why when humans were back on earth, there would sometimes be some weird news.

The lowly Chinese people would eat noodles and drink three bottles of soda. They would feel their stomachs getting bloated and painful, so they drank some baking soda. In the end, their stomachs exploded and they died.

It was a manifestation of excess energy, which was far beyond the normal digestive ability of the stomach and intestines.

Shawn had read nearly two thousand books. Among them had been a few books on chemistry.

It was clear though that those chemistry books did not provide him enough information to make superfood.

Shawn frowned, put down the pen, and said softly, "Not yet, it's far from enough..."

The whole spaceship network heaved a sigh of relief.

In just half an hour, Shawn had filled out four to five A4 pages worth of chemical equations.

Even the chemistry experts could not understand what Shawn was writing.

Shawn found a room at the hotel and went to bed.

He had experienced too many changes in one day.

The big screens went dark.

People from all over the world felt a little regretful. Some people were ready to be Shawn's fans throughout the night.

Shawn woke up at four o'clock in the morning.

The big screen on the spaceships started its live broadcast once again.

James took over the big screen and smiled at everyone. "Good morning, how was your rest last night?"

"The spaceship originally had planned to show a documentary of Earth to the people of the world throughout this special journey. However, because of Mr. Shawn's appearance, the program team decided at the last minute to change the broadcast from the documentary of Earth to the live broadcast of the last person on Earth instead."

"Therefore, the spaceship used some equipment and activated a large number of American Earth satellites so that we may observe how the last human on Earth will live out his life."

This news instantly gained the support of netizens around the world.

The screen switched and Shawn's figure appeared on all the public screens.

"F*ck, he's still reading? Is the Ball Owner a book demon?"

"Oh my God. He woke up so early just to run to the bookstore..."

The Hua Xia woman: "Knowledge is power. I'll always support the Ball Owner. I want to give birth to a baby for the Ball Owner."

Ah San: "I'll help you fulfill your wish. You can look for me."

"Scram, get the h*ll away from me. I want to watch you eat sh*t. If you eat sh*t, I'll come to look for you."

The internet went crazy again.

Shawn went back to his frenzied book reading.

In just a little over two hours, he had flipped through all the chemistry books available at the bookstore.

So much knowledge formed a huge storm and flooded into his brain, causing a chemical-like reaction.

The complicated chemical equation he was working on suddenly flashed in his mind.

Shawn was a little worried. "My brain, if I continue to study like this, will it be too full one day?"

Humans had been worried about this before.

It was later discovered by scientists that humans only use about 10% of their brains.

The brain had 10 billion neurons that were constantly rearranging itself and continuously accepted new knowledge.

What was this concept? It was like a lottery ticket with seven digits. If one wanted to guess the correct number, there were millions of combinations, the chance of winning the jackpot was one in a million.

What about the brain? Ten billion neurons, continuously changing combinations.

Shawn's current worry was not without reason because his super learning ability did not have a limit.

He had long surpassed the average person by many times. If he continued to absorb knowledge at this rate, it was very likely that he will overload his brain one day.

Without further ado, he took out the chemical equation from yesterday and continued to work on it. This time, it was much smoother.

Shawn was standing on the shoulders of all of mankind's accumulated intelligence.
