Zaen kept trying to free himself from Saturn, who was arguably the strongest man in the brotherhood. He was so strong that he often ventured to complete missions on his own while the rest of them were only allowed to venture out in groups of two and three. He was also the oldest amongst them all... at least after the abbot was presumably killed by those special force bastards.
Saturn wasn't someone Zaen could take on without preparing beforehand, and since Saturn had taken him by surprise, there was no way Zaen was getting free from him so easily. No one knew how or where Saturn was all this time, but, at that moment, they were happy that he had arrived there. None of them wanted to know what Zaen would have done to Artemis if Saturn hadn't arrived there.
