Zaen could not stop thinking about what just happened there. He was sure the ghoul did not kill Aldo, because he had explicitly ordered the ghoul not to do so. And from his knowledge about summons from games and stuff, Zaen knew a summon would not betray its master in most of the cases. Thus, there had to be something else going on there.
'Maybe... he was remotely poisoned?'
Back when he used to spar with Bruce in Evenbury, Zaen had taken quite a bit of interest in Bruce's profession last profession as a mercenary and assassin. Which led them to talk a lot while exchanging blows. That's when Bruce had told Zaen something a bit troubling and weird.
According to Bruce, some employers hire mercenaries to do their dirty work and a few of them had some... conditions before hiring them. Conditions that had to be fulfilled before even getting paid the advance.
