When a society is troubled again and again through small things, the hurt and pain of those tiniest bits of inconveniences cause the crowd to become unbearable. People usually end up taking this frustration out on something and someone else. Some channel their frustrations to do things that are good for themselves like exercising, focusing more on their work etc. While the others turn the negative energy into something good by helping others. Then there was a section of people who turn to do crimes and hurt others.
But slowly this frustration gets accumulated so much that no amount of goodwill or positivity or criminal behaviour can hold it back anymore. That's when the crowd unites against their oppressors or the ones who had been the source of their discomfort. And this comes out as a display of social violence and/or riots.
