Initially, Zaen had been reluctant to do so, but then he realised he wasn't in a position to negotiate with her. He couldn't risk pissing her off as then she might become hostile towards him and could inform the Special force about him. This was the last thing he wanted to happen and thus agreed to let Kayla stay in his home till she could sort herself out of the mess that he had created by killing the ones who assaulted her.
Kayla's reasoning for staying with him was that even if Zaen had killed her attackers, she didn't feel safe staying on her own at a place most of the people knew she lived. Moreover, since Roman's wife had also played a role in her assault, Kayla didn't want to take the risk of her showing up at her front door with a bunch of Special force officers.
