Zaen never liked playing the villain. Yet at that moment he didn't care. He had become softer, maybe because of the Artifact. But he was finally back to being the kind of man he always was. A man who didn't care about the rest of the world. They could live or die and yet, Zaen wouldn't bat an eye.
It wasn't like he didn't help people. But he only did it if he could see a benefit in helping others. He did help helpless people once in a blue moon, but there weren't many people whom he would help just for the sense of it.
Zaen wasn't like this from the beginning. He had been a loving and caring soul as a child. But it all had changed once he was forced to realise that the world wasn't as black and white as everyone had told him. You can say he went through a lot at a young age. All for the sake of entertainment of his so-called friends who had no limit on the abuse they put him through.
