-NOT EDITED-
Annabelle POV
This is the second time I awoke from this dream, the one where I'm watching myself hurt people. Granted they are trying to hurt me, but I still hate it. I woke up sweaty and shaking. I know now that it must have really happened, these huge gashes on my leg prove it. That wolf really bit down hard. Well not anymore since I apparently ripped it's jaw off.
Bea was right beside me when I woke up, it seems we slept through the day and the night. The sun was leaking through drapes that were over the door way. Bea woke up as soon as I moved. After changing my bandages and making me eat something she helped me get dressed for our walk. I was healing fast but not fast enough. My ribs are still painful. My head is still hurting. I looked in the dusty mirror on my way out catching a glimpse of the horror that was my torn down self.
My eyes were blackened, my nose was bruised and split across the bridge. My bottom lip was busted and bruised purple. I looked like I'd gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. It's sad that no one here will ever get my references. I sighed.
"It's okay the bruising will go soon, your healing faster than I expected" Bea placed her hand on my shoulder to reassure me, standing beside me in the mirror.
"It's not that...I was just thinking about how different our worlds are". I'm not sure why I sounded sad when I said that, I don't think I even miss one thing about my world, no one ever tried to fight for me. Scratch that...I miss the food.
"Your in this one now, your as much a part of it as I am" she turned to face me letting go off my shoulder "Speaking of being apart of something...Marcus and Gigi have both invited you to stay with them...Gigi might have a way for you to communicate with the spirit of your wolf....I don't really know the details and it's not until your healed...and only if you decide"
she said patiently waiting for my reaction.
"I don't know...what if it goes wrong like the last time we tried something"...
"It won't, Gigi is one of the most powerful Luna's known...She is very experienced, and she said you wouldn't even have to turn so no unleashing the monster right?"....
"Monster?" wow she called me a monster.
I don't know what to feel about that, I know I'm dangerous, but monster?.
"No no, I didn't mean like that, I just meant.." Bea put her hands up in defense and took a step back.
Is she scared of me? shit can I blame her?. I only saw a clip of what I did and I feel like a monster.
"It's okay Bea" I looked away from her heading out the doorway, pushing the drapes to the side.
"I understand, you don't need to explain"
She really doesn't, I don't want to face this right now.
As I stepped outside the sun warmed my body. I took a glance around, closed my eyes and inhaled. The breeze swept across my face, it was bliss.
I could hear people conversing around me. I kept my eyes closed. From what I did see this place looked like a camp, the wooden huts looked simple but were well built. It's quite large but I haven't really looked yet.
It suddenly got unusually quiet.
"Hey look" I heard someone whisper.
"It's her!" Another said.
Ugh, for heaven's sake. I opened my eyes to see everyone that was outside their huts staring at me... there were men, women and children all stopped staring at me.
I'm used to this kind of attention because I was a princess but I thought I was past it.
I thought I was done being gawked at.
I was quickly swept along by Bea who took my arm in hers. The sudden movement made me flinch which hurt. I could only groan, Bea didn't notice and continued waking quickly until we reached the edge of the camp.
"Shit..I'm sorry!" Bea stopped us taking my other arm softly to face me. "Are you alright?" she asked in an apologetic tone.
"Yes I'm fine" I lied covering up the pain.
A five minute walk later we were on the outside of the wooden wall walking casually. Bea was telling me about Gigi and Marcus.
Gigi and Marcus had both lost their Mates because of the King. He had them killed. Marcus's mate died because the King couldn't reach Marcus, and so he stabbed his heart instead. They lived in sorrow before they met each other. Then the spark they thought they had lost reignited giving them a very rare second chance at love. They decided to help all the Lycans and wolves that the King had hurt. Before them there was no one you could turn too. Their goal was to eventually overthrow the King. I don't know what to feel about all this. If I stay with them does that mean I have to fight for them?. Will I ow them something?.
After 10 minutes of walking around the outskirts of camp I decided to go back in. I want to speak to Gigi anyway, the quicker I get my wolf under control the quicker I can start to make decisions for myself. I won't have to change, so no chance of me becoming a 'monster' as Bea called it.
On our way back through the camp we saw Marcus conversing with another man near Gigi's hut.
"Ah there you are!" he bellowed, arms wide like he was greeting an old friend.
"How are you feeling my dear?"
"I'm feeling much better...thank you" I greeted back bowing my head slightly.
"I'm so glad to see you standing, you've got some guts I'll give you that. Our scout said you took out four men, with the iron collar on at that" he seems impressed by me, I hope that is a good thing.
I didn't know what to say so I just smiled and nodded again. I forgot why I came here.
"Have you seen Gigi?" Bea asked after the silence became a little too long. Oh yeah that's right, Gigi.
"Gigi is at the Sacred Temple, I'm sure she is eager to talk with you" he said smiling at me.
"Thank you" I said returning his smile.
We left for the temple which was smaller than I imagined. When he said temple I thought about churches and this is nothing like that. It's just a hut. It resembles the others except it's larger and you can tell someone took care building this. It's the only structure here with a door. A man waiting outside greeted us and asked what we wanted. He went inside to talk with Gigi and quickly reappeared to invite us inside.
The inside was quite beautiful. There were purple and blue fabrics hung on the walls as decoration.
A woven light blue Rug covering most of the floor.
A wooden alter sat up front with candles on it.
Etchings of the moons and their cycle on the walls.
This reminds me of my father's study.
I miss him so much, it's like everything reminds me of him.
"Sit down dear I won't bite".
I didn't notice her before, I was just stuck in my thoughts. She was smaller than me. Her hair was white with a few darker grey strands indicating she was old, but she only looked in her early fifties. And I mean aged gracefully fifties, a couple of wrinkles on her smile line and faint crows feet but thats it, almost flawless. How can she be that old?.
I took a seat next to her on one of the four benches.
Bea followed suit and before I knew it I was agreeing to be her guinea pig. I don't know why I accepted without thinking about it properly.
I just really want to be able to figure things out.
After asking how I was settling in Gigi told me about a ritual she wants to perform on me.
A situation like mine has never been documented. There's no history so really everything we do is trial and error. I already pretty much knew this in the first place so I'm not exactly surprised that she doesn't know what the fuck is going on either. The King is also sending out way more men to try and find me. There is even a bounty on me now. Everyone has heard, everyone is looking. I think I have to stay here, at least here they just want to help people. Sure they want the King dead but that's because he doesn't give a crap about his people.
------
It's been three days since I spoke to Gigi about the ritual. I feel much better. My cuts are now scars, the one on my nose cleaned up nicely, it's faint now.
The bite mark on my leg has turned into a rough scar thats raised and turning white like the rest of the scars I have. I have another across my back. Four claw marks that go from my right shoulder to my left hip. I didn't really know it was there until Bea cleaned it and changed the bandages.
They were using some kind of plant pulp to stop the pain. I didn't know what it was and neither did Bea. It was coating my wounds and the bandages Bea removed. After she cleaned it off I felt the pain.
Bea asked Marcus what it was or could possibly be. He told her it was Orga plant pulp, it doesn't grow around here, the closest source is two hours walk. It has to be mixed the same day it's picked or its no good. Did someone walk two hours for me?.
Ah it doesn't matter now. Bea replaced the bandages with no ointment. That was a bad for hours, until a container of the Orga mixture was mysteriously left at the entrance of my hut. Who is this person?.
