Annabelle had learned that you can only be a werewolf or Lycan if it runs in your bloodline. But for Annabelle that made no sense, she came from a different world, it couldn't possibly be in her bloodline. Annabelle ran through several possibilities in her mind of how she came to be a Lycan.
The first is that she's always been one, maybe the chest was just a teleportation device that somehow activated whatever was lying dormant in her.
The second is her father found something from this world that didn't belong in hers. Somehow it entered Annabelle bringing her here.
The third is she's gone completely mad and none of this is real.
It was in this chain of thoughts that Annabelle came to her final conclusion. Right now, it doesn't matter how this situation came to be, all she knew is that she had a second chance at life, and a shot at freedom, whatever that may look like.
It turns out that Annabelle and Mavello have alot in common, only it's her father who sees Mav as a disappointment. For a royal power is everything, to not be able to shift whenever you want is like strapping a dunce hat to your head.
Anna and Mav were still emersed in deep conversation when they both realised they had reached their destination. Tall wooden gates with two guards either side stood waiting. The guards were dressed in polished silver armour that was tight fitted. Their helmets reminded Annabelle of the old Spartan helmets.
"State your business!" Ordered one of the guards.
"Princess Mavello, I'm here to see my sister" Mav spoke calmly.
"Oh... I'm so sorry your highness forgive me... I did not recognise you... where is your entourage?" he questioned.
"We ran into a bit of trouble on the road... if you wouldn't mind I'd like to see my sister now".
"Of course your highness follow me... Her highness will be happy to see you... she's been worried sick since you didn't show up this morning" ..
The large gates were opened but it was still very dark. The only light was from the moons and dimly lit lamps scattered around the grounds. Annabelle could see that she was walking through a large garden, in the day time it was probably beautiful, it smelled amazing. But right now her mind wondered to the thoughts of having an actual bed to sleep in.
The three of them came to a relitevly large house, more like mansion. It was all white with what looked like vines covering some of it. It didn't look like somewhere a princess would live.
Mav stopped before they opened the door, she dismissed the guard and looked to Annabelle.
"Now Anna... my sister... well she's not a people person. Just don't take everything she says to heart okay?" Mav said sincerely.
"Mav... don't worry about me, I'm sure I've had to endure far worse" Annabelle reassured her smiling.
"Yes I guess your right, I just want you to feel comfortable... you will tell me if your not won't you?"
"I will Mav, stop worrying, I'm sure your sister will be happy when she knows your safe" Annabelle smiled again.
"You don't know my sister, she's unhappy when she's not worrying and even worse when she is" Mav informed her while still thinking in her head about what she will say to calm her sister down.
"I will find out myself when you open that door" chuckled Annabelle.
Mav opened the door. As they stepped in there was a foyer, just past it on either side there were marble stairs up, and in the middle a single wide set of marble stairs down.
As soon as Annabelle took a step inside the house a sweet smell engulfed her. Like a concentrated version of the sweetest flowers, like Jasmin... or lilies.. or maybe both.
Annabelle followed Mav down the stairs, well she didn't exactly follow... she was kind of dragged. Mav had her arm hooked in Annabelle's. Annabelle has come to like this, it's comforting even if she won't admit it aloud.
Mav seemed to be much more nervous than Annabelle was.
At the bottom of the stairs were two doors. Mav and Anna entered through one of them leading to a large room with light wooden flooring, a huge white rug was laid further in. On the rug was a round glass table, surrounding it five wooden chairs apolstered in white fabric matching the carpet. There were four doors, two on either wall equal distance apart. There were various vases and different pieces of artwork on the walls. There was no denying this place had style.
Annabelle was startled when she heard a door fly open, she could have sworn there'd be a hole in the wall from the handle. She looked in the direction it came from, it was a door she had missed at the end of the room. From it emerged a woman with almost white hair, the top half of it was braided and up, the rest fell down her back, it was almost as long as Annabelle's.
The woman was dressed in black fitted trousers, a baggy white dress shirt that was slightly unbuttoned revealing her collarbone. As she got nearer Annabelle inhaled deeply to prepare herself, the smell from before now filling her nose and her mind. It was her, definitely her.
Before anyone could speak Annabelle's eyes met the woman's. They were blue like Mavs, but the more you looked the more detail you could find, complex strings of whites, blues and greens, was that a tiny bit of orange she can see.
The woman had walked over with conviction, but now it seems standing here she has lost her words. They just stood there analyzing each other. Feeling awkward Mav cut in. "Aren't you happy to see me sister?".
