Chapter 313 - Suspicious Amounts of Money

"You killed how many?!" Mitch yelled at Coranth, causing him to jump back. Aaron and Coranth had made their way back to Coranth's city and talked with Mitch. They were telling him about what happened, specifically the kill count. "Don't ask me, ask him! He was the ones who went and killed them all!" Coranth responded in shock, causing Aaron to mime an action showing that he couldn't speak. "You have permission to speak, Aaron." Coranth sighed as Aaron put his hand to his side, tapping Tsuyukagiri's handle. The sheath was still somehow attached to him as if it was floating. "I killed enough that the blood rose to my ankles. I can say for certain that there was over five hundred. Maybe even a thousand." Aaron stated as Mitch recoiled in fear. "What the fuck kind of attack did you do to kill that many? Jesus, the person who started that will have a hard time paying you. That is if they aren't a noble." Mitch responded as he dragged the 'Job Request' thing over to him. He tapped the air a good few times, confusing Aaron about what he was doing. "What are you doing, Mitch?" Coranth asked, making sure that Aaron didn't say anything.

"I'm sending out a notification to the job poster. Once the poster notices that we sent it. We can watch the poster walk over here, hand you your money, and then we'll be on our way." Mitch explained, almost as if he was explaining something to a child. "Could you not create a system that places the funds into your account before sending them off to us?" Coranth suggested, drawing an eye roll from Mitch. "We tried setting that up years ago, but the general public was scared that we'd steal their money from them. Not like we needed to." Mitch replied, still pressing his fingers against the air. "Do you not know who the job poster is?" Coranth continued questioning him. Mitch looked at Coranth with an unimpressed expression. "Do you REALLY not know how this place works? These job postings are anonymous. As long as they have the money and are prepared for every event, they can post their offering. However, I don't think even we could have predicted the amount they now owe you." Mitch sighed, the door to the 'familiar-registering station', as Coranth called it, opening. A man in plain clothing with a clean-shaven face walked in, apparently tired.

"Hello there, sir! Were you the one that posted a job about killing treehuggers?" Mitch asked the man, who quietly nodded as he walked towards them, rubbing the sleep, also known as the crud, out of his eyes. "Well, you'll have to pay a hefty price, sir! They've killed an estimated thousand treehuggers!" Mitch announced with a smile on his face. However, the man didn't seem phased by the number, pulling a pouch out of his pocket and leaving it on the table, a blue glow emanating from his hand. "Three thousand times a thousand is three million. Count it if you so desire. However, that holds much more than you think it can." The man told them before leaving, still rubbing his eyes as Aaron stared him down. Mitch grabbed the bag from the table, looking through the contents, his eyes opened wide. "He...has three million Gil to spare?! He has to be some kind of royalty to have that money to spare!" Mitch announced as Aaron pulled Coranth to the side. "That guy is like me. A weak version of me. He created the money as he pulled the pouch out of his pocket." Aaron whispered to him, causing Coranth to stare at Aaron in shock. "What do you mean by that?!" Coranth yelled out in response, Aaron placing his skeletal finger onto Coranth's lips. "It doesn't matter. I need to know why he's here. Every other time I've encountered a person like me while visiting a planet, it has never ended out good."

Aaron grabbed the pouch of Gil from Mitch's hand and ran out the door, dragging Coranth along with him. The pair were outside faster than the eye could see, looking around for the man that had just paid them three million Gil. Aaron spotted him through a vast crowd, blending in with the locals as if he was just a random passerby. Aaron teleported past the bunched-up group of people as he brought Coranth with him as the pair tailed this mysterious figure. It wasn't long before they had the man in sight, situated between two alleyways. "So, what business do you have here?" Aaron asked, quickly forming his human body as the man turned around, confused. "What? What the hell are you talking about?" He responded, confused. "Don't try to fool me. I know that you're Boundless. Even if it's only 2%!" Aaron yelled, pointing his finger at the man, bringing up a screen for him to remind himself about what was going on. The interactive mind-field gave him a lot of information. However, Aaron found what he was looking for quite quickly.

[Boundless Individual]

[Boundless Percentage: 2%]

The man smirked, turning to face Aaron, his hands turning into claws. "Yeah? What does it matter? After all, it's not like you'll be able to defeat me!" The man yelled, appearing behind Aaron, attempting to scratch his neck with the intent to sever the brain stem. Aaron grabbed his fist, crushing it with enough pressure to turn the man's hand blue. "I would think twice before attacking someone, especially if they knew you were Boundless," Aaron told him, a smile on his face. Aaron closed his eyes, flicking Tsuyukagiri out of its sheath and back in, almost like an anime character. However, unlike those that did this for a trick, Aaron had quickly slashed at the man's hand faster than even an inhuman eye could comprehend. The man's arm burst into an eruption of blood, his palm and fingers being separated from his body as he screamed. He wasn't numb to pain like Aaron was, so he felt every hit.

"This is what I was telling you about. Are you ready to listen to what I say, or do you want to be de-limbed further?" Aaron asked, turning to face him. "It's your choice."
