Chapter 275 - Burned Planks

The group looked at Oki with eyes of confusion, wondering what the hell he meant. "Elaborate on that, child." Orochi commanded, to which Oki followed. "Look over at the pile of rubble. If you look closely, you can see something reflecting the sunlight. Chances are that this won't lead to anything, but it won't hurt to try and find and of the treasures that might be here." Oki suggested as Amana looked at him with an astounded expression on her face.

"So, you want to loot through the area without any regard for the other people that this could affect?" Amana asked Oki. "I wouldn't put it like that, but if that means stealing the valuable stuff to put in a collection to make sure that the people are never forgotten, then yes." Oki responded, putting the 'stealing' into a different light. "If we find rare artefacts, we can securely store them away so that the people who died today won't be forgotten."

"We may not have known their names, but we won't forget that they existed. Now, what do we do about Soul? He's our only way out of here, excluding you, Orochi. After all, we kind of has to bring him along with us. If we don't, he'd just be left here, unconscious." Ezrahel continued, realising what Oki was trying to tell them." "Correct. We'll be bringing back anything we can find of them and then getting Soul, or Aaron, to build a memorial of them. Then, if you know their name, you can get Aaron, or Soul, to create a tombstone for them." Oki responded, speaking to Amana this time. "I may be a child, but I can still be mature."

Amana hadn't even asked the question, but she looked at Oki with an expression of surprise nonetheless. "I see. Well, if that's what you think is best for this, I won't say anything against it. It's clear you have more experience in this kind of thing." Amana responded, putting her hands up in the air calmly. It was just a sign of her backing down from any leadership role.

"Oh yeah. You two are both Boundless, right? What abilities did you guys unlock?" Orochi asked, having a very vague idea of Boundlessness. "I chose Boundless Swordsmanship and Boundless Vanishing Pass. What did you choose, Amana?" Ezrahel responded as Amana looked down at her hands. "I chose something called Boundless Chlorokinesis, although it gave me a whole bunch of different names for it. Agrokinesis, Botanokinesis, and Phytokinesis were the names it added. What the hell do those words even mean?" Amana asked as vines sprouted up from the ground, encompassing her hand.

"Ah. I now see what it does. You can manipulate the earth, although it's only plants that you can alter. Vines and flowers have to be present before you can do anything. It'd be much better if you could CREATE the plants, but I guess that it would be strange to see plants flying around in space." Oki explained, understanding what her Boundless Power did. He looked towards his chest, curious about how his wound was doing. He peered into the chasm that was his chest, only to see the black Corruption made possible by Soul spreading up past his wounds. The dark Corruption had just breached the damage in his heart and had spread along the flesh that surrounded it.

"Hey. Orochi. Do you think that this is something I should be worried about?" Oki asked, lifting up his shirt to showcase the damage. Orochi took one quick glimpse of it and turned his head away. "Dude, whatever the FUCK that is should be checked out. I'm guessing it was made of Soul?" Orochi guessed, nodding his head sideways towards Soul. "Yeah. He saved my life with it. He isn't as skilled with healing magic as Aaron was, so he wasn't able to regrow my flesh due to splinters inside my body that would kill me if new flesh grew over them. He then gave up, and a bit of the pink stuff inside his body fell into my wound, and now we're here. I don't think he means to hurt me, but he's not worried about the damage." Oki responded, explaining how the black Corruption got there.

"Honestly, I'm no expert in what Aaron is, so I have no clue as to what we should do with that." Ezrahel chipped in, looking at the wound in Oki's chest with curiosity. "Alright, I get it. I'll ask Soul about my injury once he wakes up. Right now, we have something else to do. After all, I was the one who suggested the idea of looking for people's personal belonging so that we could store them in the museum that we should get one of them to build." Oki responded while pulling down his shirt so that his wound was covered.

"Come on, let's go and salvage this place for what it's worth. We said we'd do something, and we're going to do it." Orochi told Oki, who followed along with no qualms about the situation. He was preparing himself for what he might see in this rubble. Bodies, the smell of burning flesh, or really anything you could expect from a collapsed pile of charred timber.

Something else was going on. Far out of reach for anyone else to find. Soul's mind was in turmoil.

Soul walked around a desolate void, curious about what this seemingly endless void had to offer him. "I fell asleep. I know that much. However, I need to find out what I'm doing here." Soul said to himself as he walked.

In the distance, a creature stood still, its posture lousy with its back slanted. It had curves, just not in the usual way. "Oh? Well, how are you?" Soul asked, trying to grab its attention.

The creature ignored him. Soul walked closer to it, trying to see what its deal was. After all, it was inside HIS head.

As he walked closer, a voice whispered in his ear. The words drove shivers down his spine as he thought about what was going to happen next.

"Seventh Boundless Act..."

"Death Hell Shower."
