Chapter 213 - Shattered Sternum

The orcs looked at Aaron in shock, expecting a monster to have broken down the outer wall to their base, but not a human. A small drop of Aaron's blood, created for purely dramatic effect, dropped to the floor, causing the humans and orcs to understand what they had just done. The orcs looked like large boars, yet they were bipedal, ambidextrous and had opposable thumbs. Basically, they were large, hair humans with some traits of a boar, like the nose and teeth.

"You're no human, are you?" The orc that had stabbed him asked Aaron, and slowly, Aaron began to chuckle, growing into a decent laugh, scaring only the humans present. "You're right, orc. However, I didn't expect humans to be living alongside you. Pretty impressive, isn't it?" Aaron responded, raising his left hand into the air. The tips of Aaron's fingers quickly became covered in hard, blue scales. "However, I did something more impressive."

The orcs and humans immediately backed away, the sword sliding out from Aaron's skull as if it were butter. The scales were the sign of The Basilisk, the monster which had tormented them for the past few years. All of the orcs that were present drew their weapons of choice. Those ranged from broadswords and longswords to whips and bows. "Basilisk, have you come to torment us again?! I shan't allow it!" The boar holding the first sword exclaimed, pointing his sword into the air as everyone followed suit.

"Calm down. I'm not the Basilisk. Put down your sword, and I'll explain why I'm and how I can create the scales of the Basilisk on my body. Or, well, if you want, you could try to attack me, but I'd highly advise against that. I know that violence is the only way some people can get to grips with things, so go ahead. Punch me." Aaron taunted them, pointing directly at his chest.

A boar, taller than the others, walked out from the group, an axe at his waist. "Ah, a stronger orc," Aaron said to himself, the hole in his head slowly regenerating. It was just for effect. "So, do you want to test your strength against me, or are you trying to prove something to your fellow orcs?" Aaron asked, lifting his hand into the air. He blinked, and the orc was gone as Aaron watched an axe go through his chest. "I am Spod. My name is a strange version of sped." The orc whispered to him from behind his head as the orcs and humans cheered for him.

It was at this moment when Seph and Sciat jumped down into the hole. They had been listening in to the conversation, but they hadn't seen anything. As they descended, Spod pulled the axe out of Aaron's chest. Aaron made no movement to stop it, and it shocked Seph and Sciat as they realised what would happen next. Aaron put his hand against his chest, feigning injury. Spod looked at Aaron with a triumphant look in his eyes, and, like a flash of lightning had struck Aaron where he stood, he disappeared, leaving behind the illusion of ash. The burst of light blinded Spod for just a second, and Aaron appeared above his head as a point of black light appeared at Spod's forehead, causing Aaron to chuckle as his body fully regenerated. This was his new attack, Godly Lightshow, and, upon seeing it, the ground who had been cheering fell immediately silent.

"This speck of dark light would be enough to kill you, Spod. I know it doesn't look like much, but I am fully convinced that this could murder the entire room. If you want to test this theory, touch the light, and watch what happens." Aaron warned Spod, bringing fear to everyone in this room. So much for doing this peacefully, but in his defence, they did stab at him first. "You're bluffing. You may be strong, but you're not powerful enough to do stuff like that..." Spod began before Aaron released a wave of Godly Energy, and it had one sole purpose. It stopped everyone in the room, including Sciat and None/Seph, from moving. It was almost as if they were temporarily crippled.

"Now, everybody here, except for me, can't run. If I can disable everyone in a room, I can kill the same number. Of course, all you have to do is let me explain myself, and you can decide from there." Aaron explained as the speck of light slowly grew into a small sphere, suspended in mid-air as if it was a science experiment. "So, do you want to let me explain my case, or do you want to become a victim to my Lightshow? This is the thing that killed The Basilisk." Aaron informed them, watching the eyes of the humans and the orcs almost pop out of their heads in surprise.

"What...?" Spod asked, dumbstruck. "This ball of black light...killed THAT THING?!" He yelled, holding his head in confusion, falling face-first into the ground. Spod was not used to this kind of conversation. He was used to being the strongest person in the room, considering that he was the tallest, only to finally face someone undeniably stronger than him. "I've only ever barely damaged the plates of that monster, and you...you killed it?!"

"Finally, now you're starting to understand what I'm saying, Spod. I could teach you my abilities as well if you wanted, but you'd have to listen to what I want to say. After all, I have an offer you might find very interesting and, possibly, lucrative." Aaron told Spod, who didn't know what lucrative meant, but he assumed it was good. "This offer extends to all of you that are present," Aaron announced, snapping his fingers to restore everyone's ability to stand. "Listen to what I have to say, and if it's in your interests, I have a proposition for you, and you might find it unique."

"Would you like to be a part of the Kingdom of Monsters?"
