Chapter 190 - Talking in an Illusion

Aaron watched as None and Seph sat down, patting the ground. "Sit down. I need some answers." Seph told him, and Aaron sat down, getting comfortable on the flower-filled grassy hill. "So, what do you need answers on? Aaron asked, a cup of mint tea appearing in his hand. This was an illusion, after all. Might as well enjoy it while he could.

"Everything. I have no idea what's going on, and None doesn't either, so it would really help us if we both learned at the same time." Seph explained as None chipped in with his point. "I only gained consciousness after you got to 20% Boundlessness, so I only know everything past that. I can copy your abilities, but only to a weak extent, such as very weak telekinesis, while yours is Boundless." None pointed out, making the katana in his hand float for three seconds before it fell to the ground with a resounding 'ting' noise.

"Explain to us what you know about Boundlessness, or at least what you think about it, or what you think it is," Seph asked, not knowing what Boundlessness was, but he assumed it to be related to Aaron in a way. Aaron sat back on his palms and began explaining.

"Boundlessness is a state of being higher than that of Gods. It grants unlimited potential, but it's all just a way to the goal that's what's above Boundlessness. However, Boundless people interact with their Soul, which houses their worst traits, mine being more on the physical and mentally altering side of things. That is the black and pink monster that you killed here. It also allows for said monster to alter you beyond recognition. That is the black-boned skeleton that you guys fought earlier." Aaron explained, using as much of his knowledge on the topic as possible. After all, what he knew consisted mainly of increased power, a system, and his Soul.

"It grants a lot of power, Boundlessness, but it also means that it takes another Boundless person of equal skill and strength to give you an exciting match. Unfortunately for me, I only found one. That was when I was limiting my power greatly. That was Crystet, and our two fights resulted in neither of us winning, but it allowed us to become better as people. We fought twice by chance, and now we're both here. Him unconscious, and the skeleton about to die." Aaron chuckled, imagining the skeleton shattering into pieces.

"So, you're telling me you possess power above gods? Then why couldn't you just stop that monster from being created?" Seph asked out of confusion. Wouldn't that have worked as well? "Well, here's the thing. It's my body, and I may be the captain of my Soul, but he's the one inside my Soul, and he decided to take control of my body. I couldn't do anything to stop him, at least in the moment. I was trapped in my unconscious mind. I stabbed him with a sword, but then he overloaded my brain with information, and I was left helpless." Aaron stated, bringing up a simple visual representation of what he meant. Two stick men. One cyan and one was both black and pink. They started having a little fight in the air, and Aaron was animating it based on his battle with Soul.

"As this goes on, you'll see me stab Soul, trying to get him to not take control." Aaron commentated as the stick figures did what he was talking about. "However, once he used his prowess over the Soul itself against me, he gave me infinite knowledge, but I couldn't do anything with it, overloading my brain." Aaron pointed out, watching the stick figure that represented Aaron fall to the ground face first, as the one representing Soul looked like it was laughing. "See? I couldn't do anything. At least, not in the moment." Aaron finally stated as the visualisation faded away, becoming nothing more than dust in the wind.

"Oh. Well, I didn't know you two disliked each other so much." None commented as Seph nodded. "I thought your soul would help you out, but it sounds like it just hinders you," Seph said, revealing his take on the subject. "Oh, but it does help you. That's the scary part." Aaron responded. "It'll physically help you when you need it, but at a cost relative to how useful it would be at the time, such as a life or death scenario. If you just wanted it for a party trick, it'd take control for maybe five to ten minutes or something along those lines. If you were about to die, it might not try to possess you at all. It helped me filter out the good parts of my personality, and he is my dark side if you want to call it that." Aaron explained, making the two stickmen appear again.

"We are one and the same, and we can't do anything about it. Soul is my worst desires and emotions personified, and he has too much control for his own good. If I gave him the opportunity, he'd take control of my body for good, and over time, he'd either kill billions of people and destroy planets, solar systems, and maybe the universe, or he'd become my good half, and I'd become the dark one. I don't exactly know what'll happen, but I have a feeling one of those would happen. Neither of them are good options, so I have to try and prevent both from happening." Aaron explained, the stickmen once again fading into the wind as dust, and Aaron kept silent for a second, letting Seph and None think about what he had just said.

"Wow. I never thought something like that could happen." None commented. "Well, I hadn't thought of anything before I got my consciousness, so I know why I never thought of that."

"So, what do you plan to do about Soul?" Seph asked Aaron.

"Absolutely nothing."
